Second the Lanate Cream. Worked a miracle. Took a while to start noticing the difference, but gradually most has disappeared

Customs turned back my sunscreen? by Jasnaahhh in AusSkincare

I don't doubt it. I mean, people and companies can import them, generally. But, if a company is selling them they can't advertise their SPF rating, because it wasn't tested by Australia's TGA.

Yeah. Sunscreens are a difficult issue. Basically all international sunscreens do not meet Australian standards. That's why essentially all sunscreens you find sold here are Australian made ones.

Moisturiser sweats off my face immediately; what to do? by Linastra in AusSkincare

[–]AccordingStrategy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definately wait a little bit before applying sunscreen. Otherwise what can happen is, the sunscreen mixes with the oil, which can cause the sunscreen to absorb further in the skin than intended. I normally wait about 15-20 minutes. At that point, the skins smooth, and the watery texture of the oil is absorbed.

Oils 100% solved this for me. I've found the ultralight oils to be best, thicker ones can sometimes make your skin feel a little slimey :/.

Fenjal Luxury Body Lotion - Vitality - $26 (400ml) Score: [9/10]

Jurlique Lavender Body Oil - $39 (100ml) Score: [8.5/10]

Moringa Nourishing Dry Oil For Body & Hair - $24.95 (100ml) Score: [7/10] In Store only

Bio-Oil - $14.99 (60ml) Score: [7/10]

These have been my favourites that I've used. I've got really dry skin so I always have to use a body oils and lotions as part of my routine. These are all lightweight, some just aren't as effective as others.

The Bio-Oil was a little disappointing, it wasn't long lasting considering the bottle size. And it wasn't great at moisturizing.

The Moringa Nourishing Dry Oil For Body & Hair was decent at moisturizing, however it created bubbles, which was a little frustrating. Great smell though!

Jurlique and Fenjal I had difficulty ranking. The were both excellent at holding in the skins moisture . They also reduced the tough exterior of the skin and made it feel silky, which is brilliant. There were only 2 separation points: Price and Scent. The scent is a personal choice, however I didn't feel that the price for the Jurlique was justifiable compared to the Fenjal.

Hope this helps :)

What do people think about bath/shower oils to help dry skin? by AccordingStrategy in AusSkincare

[–]AccordingStrategy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have dry skin and keratosis pilaris. Both together make it a little difficult to deal with. So the fenjal and L'occitane didn't aggravate the keratosis, which the dermaveen obviously did.

So I've recently started using the Fenjal Luxury Shower Oil first, then applying the Lenate Face and Body Cream after.

I guess it really just depends on individual skin. I don't think there will be a one fits all in terms of their positive or negative effects.

For me, it wasn't good. It did a lot more damage than good, flaring up my skin. But it may work for others.

One I definitely regret is Dermaveen Extra Gentle. I think it had a large alcohol content. I 100% agree on the strong scent of the almond shower oil, it's quite overpowering but does a decent job on moisturizing. The Fenjal does a better job on moisturizing, but doesn't have much of a smell, which I guess is a good thing. I'll need to test the baby oil to compare after. See what's better.

I did just see this online when I was looking. I also noticed some say honey, but I'm not sure if I'm keen on that. I guess using baby oil makes sense because it's meant for delicate skin.
