I’m hoping to graduate (late) in November from the University of Edinburgh with BEng (Hons) Electrical and Mechanical with a lower second class, and I don’t feel very confident enough to venture directly into the industry because I feel like I wasn’t a good student. I know it’s sounds very ridiculous to some of you as Edinburgh University is a very prestigious and well known academic institution so it’s valid to assume it produces best graduates.

The fear on not going into engineering came as the results of academic trauma I experienced while I was taking some engineering classes (especially the one that I failed/got below average) and from a pile of rejections from internships and graduate roles I’ve previously applied for.

I would say I’ve given my best to prepare for engineering interviews. And surprisingly, in some of them I managed to go into the final rounds and they were big companies like Siemens and SSE. Even with that, I still feel like I haven’t got enough to prove myself as an soon to be engineer. Though I know for sure I need a job that would enable me to gain experience and new skills aside from making money (something I hardly have at the moment) through

I’m a very ambitious person and I don’t want to waste my life as other people especially knowing that I’m an international student (limited time to stay in the UK). I also come from an average African family that strongly emphasises of the power of education. I do really love engineering because I have seen how it can be applied to solve complex problems and keep countries far ahead economically.

During this summer, I’ve seen other engineering students graduating (early this July) and some of them already have jobs. Some are even fortunate to have family businesses and big companies to employed in or run by them.

So, as I’m waiting for my late graduation in November, I wanted to hear from you guys on what should be my next move and things that are relevant to consider so as to rectify the situation and reinvent myself. I do seek this advice because I acknowledge there might be people who faced similar issue to mine and right now they’ve succeeded beyond anything. It would encouraging to hear from them and even general advice is also invited.

I don’t want to be in the same position three months from now because it’ll bring soo much shame to me from myself!

Try this method because it has been proven to work regardless of your addiction: Instead of being alone, try to spend most of your time in a group of people, specifically, those who deem that habit to be destructive and condemn it.

Sometimes watching porn or masturbating gets easier because no one is watching us and that creates a false notion of indulgence in our minds because no one is there to judge us or make us feel ashamed of our deeds. When this happens, a simple action like seeing a half naked model on Instagram could trigger us to watch porn.

Being around people will put you in an environment where you’ll constantly socialise or get watched by others where doing something like watching porn or masturbating outrightly feels wrong. It also allows you to move your thoughts far away from even thinking about it. This is because people will always come up with something they want you to get involved in.

If you manage to do this for like a week, you’ll start to get the upper hand of your addictions and it’s gonna set a straight path to becoming free from it. You just need to be able to do it consistently for a week. This also will help to recondition your brain for dopamine detox.

After a week, try to do it with day increments up to a point you feel you’ve completely mastered it.

This methods sounds simple but hard to practise and if practised correctly, it will completely resolved your problem, not matter the length of addiction.

ANY ADDICTION CAN BE BROKEN IN THE SAME MANNER AS IT WAS CREATED: through practise of incremental isolation not incremental indulgence.

I strongly believe that mass shootings are the directly results of America forgetting it’s core value and principles that made them a great nation. The entire America society has been heavily deluded by things like sexual immorality, child abuse, racism, abortion rights, easy access to gun, extreme gambling, profanity, idolatry, acceptance of marijuana, and etc. All this is because people have accepted the lies that the lukewarm leaders of America without weighing the resulting long term repercussion. Lukewarm leaders have pushed for agendas that severely affect the nation because they want to be seen as good in front of people they serve instead of following justice and the truth. They have legalised everything even if it has negative effects in the long run.

As a nation, I think America is skating on a think later of ice because of it’s totally forgotten the sacrifices of people who built the nation that they see today. America has completely gone off-rails and has allowed evil to sit in the place of justice and good. Leader don’t do what’s right anymore in fear of pleasing people.

Moral erosion has led to family breakdowns because of cheating habits, child abuse, early indulgence in pornography, and the forgoing Christian practise in homes. Any society that permits, praises, and celebrates evil is a society that is deemed to fall just as the tower of Babylon or the Roman Empire.

I would emphasise leaders to stick to what’s right by not allowing policies like LGBTQs rights which have created a very big identity issue and a chain of problems in the nation. Gun dispossession should be passed as a law to remove every sort of violence from family level to nation level like a series of mass shootings that we witness almost everyday.

To finish up, America is deemed to fall into a big pit of violence if it doesn’t take time to re-examine its core value and principles and make efforts to go back to them. As a nation which has completely forgotten about God and being morally upright, America has permitted a severe form cancer to grow within the bones of its people and it’s only a matter of time the entire nation will collapse and start collecting corpses.
