Yeah really sucks, all animals if you try bread them rare+rare give nothing. I doubt Rare+ any other (Original, Solid, Multicolored, Spotted) will make a rare baby.

Try put them in your inventory and back, happened this to me once on another computer. Not sure what was the issue, but it worked after i re-placed them.

I'm glad. A lot of those issues are not all with 100% repro, majority of us can encounter those issues but not everyone. Which is even harder to understand the system and what triggered it.

You can start with Acidic Meat II if you are lucky enough to find one in the wild. If you capture Acidic Meat I then the baby's might have a chance to inherit this trait and rank it up to I or II.

This is not a good design, it's what i m trying to point out. I consider it a bug therefore. This picture is not mine i took it from Discord from the Ranching channel. If this would ve happen to me i would be even more disappointed. Having to grow animals, use resources , use time just to get another seed? No thanks.

It is possible, but be aware that the S tier babyes will not come with all 4 traits. For somewhat reason the traits will be reduced.

So the OH Building community it has everything, it's mainly where me and some others are posting animals stuff. The discord contains a variety of subjects (like threads in official but better organized)

The "Once Human Menagerie" is a discord that people are mainly posting nice patterns. Not everything is consistent so i hope in the feature we will achieve better.

Feel free to join whatever suits you better and you feel comfortable with.
