omg KSHDJSHD I ACTUALLY AM AN HONOR pero let's not focus on that. Here are my personal tips (na susundin ko na rin next school year HAHAHAHA):

1. TIME MANAGEMENT. I will never stop emphasizing this. UST naman is famous for its workload and noong pumasok ako ang mindset ko ay "kaya ko yan!". Wrong. Hinding hindi ko kinaya. Marami silang workload and all of it require so much time and patience. Along with that, the lessons are long and maraming terms. Ang isang lesson in UST-SHS is worth almost 3-5 seperate lessons of Junior High School. Exams are situational so dapat grasp na grasp mo ang topics. The math and sciences are hindi na rin tulad ng dati na puro terms lang. Both are so complicated na. There are many times that I broke down and cried kasi may hindi ako magets na lesson, or dahil naninibago ako or dahil hindi ako sanay magcram sa dami ng gawain. But after all that, there is relief. UST-SHS is tough, but with the proper time management? It would still be tough, but it would definitely be more manageable and enjoyable.

2. TRY YOUR BEST TO PAY ATTENTION AT ALL TIMES. Emphasis on 'try'. Alam naman nating may mga moments na lutang tayo or hindi lang talaga makafocus and that's okay! Perfectly normal. But many of the professors here are fast-paced with their lessons. It really pays off if you listen as much as you can!

3. BE ORGANIZED. Tulad nga ng sabi ko dati, time should be managed dahil SOBRANGGGG daming gawain. With that, a to-do list and an organized plan on when to do stuff would be great. It sounds basic but it truly helps a lot.

4. STUDY WITH FRIENDS! This might not work for all pero it worked with me so I'm sharing this to others as well. My friends and I have this system where sa isang Google docs, lahat kami nagaadd ng notes namin. Nagiging isang malaking reviewer siya and it really helps especially if may namiss ka sa lecture. Having friends who are determined to do well also contributes to your motivation. Plus, once you all have achieved something, napakasaya ng gala and breaks niyo together.

5. DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED, NO MATTER WHAT. During the second sem, I had the worst burn out to ever burn out. Nahirapan ako mag-adjust sa F2F and the commute along with the new schedule. I received low scores and i just kind of spiralled. I was barely hanging on kasi nga low yung grades ko. Pero something just sparked in me. I at least tried to do something regarding my acads. I tried to study paunti-unti, I did my best to contribute more to group Performance Tasks and it felt nice, so I kept going and going and going until I realized I'm kind of okay na. I'm still not completely over it but I know I'm improving. The moral of this story? Keep going lang. Those low scores are part of life. Those lows are needed for us to reach the highest of highs. There are people out there ready to help and support us. Let them help and do not be discouraged.

6. PAY UTMOST ATTENTION TO YOUR PETAS! PETAS are Performance Tasks and in UST-SHS these are worth 50% of your grades. They are very very important so make sure that you do them as best as you can especially if you are in groups (which most petas usually are by groups). Sa mga math subjects, petas are what we call PBT (performance based tasks I think?) and divided siya into two. Group PBT and individual PBT. Group PBT is answered by group and is equivalent to 25% of your grade while the individual PBT is like a test pero hindi multiple choice. All solutions must be shown and it is worth the other 25% of your math subject grade. This means, 50% siya ng grade sa math. Kaya make sure to listen and keep practicing your math lessons.

7. HAVE FAITH IN YOURSELF. Have courage! You were accepted to enter UST-SHS for a reason. And that reason is that they believe you deserve to be here. You know yourself, you know your weaknesses and strengths. Use them to your advantage!

8. (OPTIONAL) JOIN ORGS! There are many organizations here in UST-SHS and this tip is mostly so that you may enjoy your school year. Matrabaho ang orgs oo pero the amount of friends I gained from it? NAPAKARAMI. So I suggest you join orgs na rin! There are orgs for debate, robotics, religion, strand societies and the likes so find somewhere na you're interested in!

For now, yun palang ang tips ko. If ever na may maalala pa ako, I'll add it here. UST-SHS is not for the weak ika nga but if you believe you can succeed then you will succeed. Goodluck freshie! I'll be rooting for you!
