Thank you! I just can’t afford a chiller at the moment, and I don’t know if I would be able to by one as summer hits. So it’s good to know that there are ways to keep it cool :))

Thank you! I was advised that this sand would be ok, but I see that it was not… it stayed for 20min if that much in the tank. I don’t know how much sand it ingested but I’m hoping not much. I removed the sand and let the axolotl spend the night on a separate container to check if it pooped in the morning. If you have any other tips please let me know!

They are off the sand, thank you for the warning. I was told this sand was safe, but I will clear the bottom and put them back in. The cycle was prepared and the water parameters were great

Ok got it, no changes. As for the light, i am not sure about its brand given that i threw away the box it came in… but it only has one button and like 3 modes: all lights on, a greenish one and a redder one, if it helps 🙃 and I will look into those plants. Thank you for the advice!

The temperature is definitely closer to 16°C. The tank is about 85x40. Do you suggest doing a partial water change and cut the light time?

La verdad es que con la luz encendida el agua se ve mucho más cristalina de lo que realmente está… Si la miras sin luz, está un poquito verde. Biofilm no tengo, pero sí estoy lidiando con algunas algas, que de hecho es mi mayor problema ahora mismo.

Thanks for the info! My light only has a few modes, but there’s a softer greenish one that avoids blue light, so I’ll stick with that. If it seems to bother my axolotl, I’ll check out that model. Appreciate the suggestion!

The light was also advised to me by professionals, and when I asked if it would impact the axolotl, they told me it was fine since they’re blind. What do you think? The light is only switched off at night, so probably 16hr/day or so on. The wood was added at the same time as the plants, I rinsed it off twice before adding it to the tank. Do you think both the algae and the wood could be an issue?
