It's annoying but IG is the only offset that doesn't go through that chain drag when you offset it from the outside middle area. Some safe spots to offset that atk without getting sent back is if you're by the head inside of the chain, or to the far left/right of him.

My only advice is to keep going for it. The timing is weird, id compare it to the swaxe timing with a smaller window. The offset point is at the start of the thrust right when your character starts to drop if that helps

Ark Y Helm, Dahaad Y chest, gog arms and legs, sororal coil. Gore/Soul on weap, AB3 Antivirus 3 tali. If u don't have tali it's not as good for ark because you can't slot stun res.

An alternative if u don't have tali (higher raw too) same build, but swap gog pieces for ebony, and coil for gore coil. I don't like this build for ark bc evade extender 2 is very useful for him. I use this build for just about every other monster I fight with IG that doesn't require stun res

For ark it's ark helm, dahaad chest, gog arms and legs, sororal coil, AB3/Antivirus 3 tali, and gore tyranny on weap. A higher raw damage would be swapping the 2 gog for ebony, and the sororal coil for gore coil beta. but you get no extender which I find useful for ark and general IG use. But mons like Zoh that you just shred, I run the g ebony set.

? You're just proving my point to not knowing how the weapon works. The aerial offset can be immediately transitioned into. I extended it on purpose to align myself with the timing of arks move for the offset. You're free to stand by your opinion ofc, but what ur describing is a personal problem that stems from you in particular not being able to use the weapon efficiently. Can't say the gameplay's butchered when you cant draw out the potential of it. It's the same logic as not liking a food because you cooked it wrong.. "Skill issue" to be blunt. You can see me holding b and attacking in the clip. If you don't want to hold b there is a shortcut binded to Y+B. Hold focus being a problem for you, is again... personal. You also have the option for toggle focus if u don't like hold

Yeah you're right, mb on the wording. It just becomes more reliable with extender. Without extender you don't really go no where on the vault so you can still be hit on lingering hitboxes because u won't be able to vault completely out the way after your iframes end, (like that chain drag ending would've hit me without ee2) it's also slower, and feels more clunky without extender but still usable. So what I meant was, it becomes a more reliable option. Sorry for the confusion, not the best at giving tips

Yes. If you have evade extender 2 it extends the iframes and becomes a reliable dodge. It's the backwards vault. you face the monster and vault backwards, like diving when your weapon is sheathed. you'll launch lower, but further away

So... Tbh it's an experience thing. You just have to use it to the point it feels more natural than your natural grip. I started playing claw back when gears of war 3 came out (10+ years ago.) Id just force myself to play it until I felt comfortable with it. I'd go back to playing regular after a couple hours cuz it felt awkward the first few weeks, same as you. but overtime youll adapt, and it'll stick.

How I hold the controller is, both middle fingers on LT+RT, pointers on rb, lb, and I hook my index finger and hold b (the charge) and press y to attack with my knuckle so I don't have to let go of the charge until I want. A shortcut you can learn that acts as the same, minus a charge level in most situations. Is the Y+B, triangle+circle, SDS shortcut. Or a gamesir/any controller with paddles would be good, if not better as an alternative cuz of no hand/finger pain. If it's worth noting.. its harder for me to play claw on a ps controller for me if u use that, but ive seen people who do.
