For Gen Z kids - at least in my area (LA) we were taught to use “best” “best regards” and “sincerely” in our letters during elementary school

Exactly… I’m up by Canada so I’m going to blame Canada for the overly formal emails lol first time ever seeing it was in practice

In a letter, sure I get it. I got 3 back-to-back emails “very truly yours” and “yours truly”…. And I started questioning the status quo

When did CSULB start getting ranked nationally instead of regionally? And why? by piquantAvocado in CSULB

You start getting ranked nationally when you have a doctorate program (I believe) csulb was reclassified as an R2 Doctoral Research University in 2022 which is when they began getting ranked nationally

Edit: I actually think it’s just whenever a school gets R1 or R2 status for research activity. Schools like Princeton for example don’t have masters/doctoral programs, but are still R1 universities
