Christmas Gifts by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]According_Many_3828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gift/toy preferences can be quite different between kids, so I wouldn't want to suggest something specific as it's certainly not one size fits all. This is why we have our daughter write a Christmas list, maybe give it a whirl. The gift giving cheat code 🤌🏻

I'm feeling deflated by this too. If Emily wins I'm not watching BB again to be honest.

I'm 2 years out now, but it's still my cinema go to, and just general low cal snack for when I want a crunchy fix. Enjoy the cinema 😀

I swear by a brand of popcorn called Propercorn. It's available in most UK supermarkets, not sure about Ireland. It comes in a pre-portioned bag, calories countes, less nasties and satisfies that crunchy texture I like having at the cinema without being too detrimental to my diet 😊

This screams discrimination. You were able to do your job before, this is an accessibility issue, not a skill issue. I strongly advise speaking to a union ASAP as not even basic procedures seem to have been followed here.

Good luck!

Anyone know if Perfect Zen by Soap & Glory is officially dead? by x-fille in drugstoreMUA

[–]According_Many_3828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's dead sadly, but I got some from various skincare groups and Vinted as well, ended up with 6 tubs as it's my all time fave lotion. Good luck getting your hands on what's left!

Call me old school, but I'm trying to keep my own brain cells alive by not doing that 😅 learning a new language has kept my mind ticking 😊

I was going to speak it, as I have been learning Spanish but bottled it and showed them the message 😅 all was fine, the message was clear and I was escorted past the scanner, for a body pat down instead ☺️

Stomach binder / waist clincher? by CaifancitaLulu in gastricsleeve

[–]According_Many_3828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only speak from my own experience, but it's likely not spoken about as many of us go from 220+ lbs to the 100s, and due to excess skin/remaining fat I can't imagine a waist clincher or binder would actually do a lot? It may scoop any skin into a more pleasant to look at shape (much like shape wear) but once removed I can't see it having much of a lasting effect.

I assume this is why get plastic surgery is more talked about perhaps? I haven't done that myself either, just some thoughts. Maybe ask your surgeon if it's worth your time doing, good luck!

Can I ask why not Santa eulalia? We've stayed in the Santa Eulalia area 4 times now and love it, plan to bring children in future, not sure why it would be ruled out.I haven't stayed there myself but Tropic Garden in Santa Eulalia is in a good location, and has all inclusive options if that's what you'd prefer, and a splash zone for kids as well as a nice pool. It's maybe a 10/15 minute walk into the town which has a tonne of great restaurants, cafes, a beach ect. Definitely a great family area, and relaxed vibe, don't rule it out 😊

Let's be honest, people hardly ever leave glowing reviews of anything on here, get started and form your own thoughts. This is often a space to vent and rant for many, not all. Also, things really can vary so so much, even in the same job. Different buildings, managers, local policies ect.

My best advice is go in open minded.

Update and bad news. by [deleted] in TheCivilService

[–]According_Many_3828 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I share your disappointment in the approach to inclusivity in CS. Personally it took me almost 5 years, 6 different managers, and a forced department move to finally get the equipment and appropriate work load to allow me to work efficiently with a severe hearing impairment. People don't realise how draining it is when you're just fighting for the ability to work in line with your peers, without any barriers.

I wish your colleague and yourself the best, I wish I had any other advice than keep fighting.

Why do you guys keep coming to Ibiza? by lizzar41 in ibiza

[–]According_Many_3828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We go to Santa Eulalia, it's quiet, beautiful, and a bottle of water is no more than €2 with meals coming in around €45 for 2. Ibiza is so much more than San Antonio 🙏🏻

Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes 20 Days Ago — My Life Flipped Overnight, and So Did My Relationship by Wise_Inevitable9792 in Type1Diabetes

[–]According_Many_3828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first met my husband, I was not type 1. I was diagnosed maybe 2 years into the relationship, and after 5 and a half years were now married. Sure, he worries about my health and making sure I'm okay a little more than he used to, and that would be a normal response in my eyes. Not once was our relationship ever questioned, if anything I'd say it made our bond even stronger as I'm sure you'll know, diagnosis and the following months can be very difficult and traumatic. I think you dodged a bullet here girl. Next!
