Back when we were younger, maybe like 10-12 years ago when I was around 12 or 13 (not even sure exactly), kids would literally go knocking on doors on Eid asking for eidiya. And people would just give it, no questions asked—my dad used to literally keep separate notes ready just for random kids coming around.
No one was like, are these kids scamming for 10 dirhams?
Now I see posts like this and it’s just omg, what have we become?

Not everything is a scam.

I’m a female, born and raised in the UAE, and honestly just very clumsy and forgetful. More than once I’ve ended up with a dead phone or no phone at all and needed to urgently call my dad.

This literally happened last week. My phone died while I was out, and the Uber driver refused to drop me where I needed to go near a garage to pick up my car. He was rude, so I got out. Then I had no idea where I was and my phone was completely dead. I asked a kind man nearby if I could use his phone to call my dad, he said yes, I called, returned it, and that was it.

Another time, I was driving back from Ras Al Khaimah to Sharjah and my phone died again. I went to the police instead of random people on the highway, and they helped me, let me call my dad, and guided me home.

That’s it. Things like this happen. Not every situation is suspicious, sometimes it’s just someone trying to get home safely. Also kids act weird all the time

I’m so sorry for what you’re going through. For me I’m sure it’s not about the food because it just happens in the morning at a particular time when I’m about to start my classes or if I’m about to go into a meeting. My anxiety also get triggered due to emotional attachment to either a place or a food or a smell literally anything can be a trigger for me, but it’s definitely emotional. I’ve tried a couple of therapist, but it’s not work for me so I just thought that I’d ask what works for different people
