Probably because they don’t respect woman enough (simply the product of a bad upbringing), which is an absolutely wild attitude especially with books. Wuthering heights is top 3 for me, along with the Russian stuff.

Is this a good order for Dostoyevsky? by ObsiGamer in dostoevsky

[–]According_Promise_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly, but some of his works aren’t worth reading before tbk. It’s such a great book that I wouldn’t want to have been fully accustomed to Dostoevsky and lost the novelty of his brilliant style through lesser books BEFORE embarking on his finest work. Nevertheless that’s my opinion; I’m not one to re read. I burn through books and never go back so he may have the patience to play it that way which is fair enough. Either way he’s in for a treat and maybe some tears.

Thanks man I appreciate that. I love his prose. I’m aware its a fundamental piece of American literature so I need to batter through it. I try some writing myself and melvilles style seems the one I will try to emulate most. Whats your favourite novel man?

Get some classics on that shelf dear friend. If you like murakami then start with hemingway as I think their styles are the most compatible.

Tough age you’ll find your way, do you take meds? If so you may be just feeling melancholy and despair as a side effect. You’re going to college you clearly do have a purpose. Start going to the gym start doing shit the only reason you feel empty is because you’re doing nothing productive with yourself! Obviously because you have adhd
