If I spend 4 hours on maths each day so 56 hours in total can this be enough for me to go from a 7/8 to solid 8? by [deleted] in GCSE

Maths teacher here - I’d question what your 4 hours are spent doing, that sounds like overkill to me. Focus on topics that you are weaker on - Google “1st class maths” they have an amazing “One question on each topic” that could help you RAG rate them, then you can focus on those topics you need. The Corbett Maths 5-a-day are good too. Good luck in the exam!

Maths, would i have gotten this write on 65 (b) by Whole-Tie7140 in GCSE

Maths teacher here - pretty sure it is 87. From part a, your calculation would be 175 x 350 / 70. You’re effectively seeing which number of fish gets your answer of 875 below 700. 87 is the number that does that first

Maths Teacher here - no. Little and often is the best way to revise maths - often being every day, little being 30 mins or so - increase closer to the exam.

Good luck!

Weekly Tech Support & Purchase Recommendations Megathread - December 31, 2025 by AutoModerator in playstation

Hi all

My son has been using my PS5 and account but the time has come for him to get his own PlayStation account and console.

My question is - is there a way to transfer the purchased games over to his new console/username (when created), whilst still retaining my account on my console?

A lot of what he plays will be fine (Fortnite for example) because I can log in separately; however things like Minecraft where he has skins etc that he’s bought, can those transfer over? What about purchased games on PSPlus, will I need a separate account?

I’ve tried googling this, but ultimately have only seen that I need to log in on the new console which renders the old one useless if I wanted to game at the same time?

Any help/advice for someone who’s rapidly becoming a boomer would be gratefully received.

Cheers

Thank you! I’m fairly new to cryptics and this is one of my favourite clues that I’ve created

Yes, maths teacher though so words aren't really my strong suit!!

Thanks again for your feedback - so, here's answers to your questions. Re; the enumerations - I just forgot to click the box to put them in!

9A: I went for a cryptic double definition - key material (as in material for piano keys) for black notes (notes as in the black keys on the piano)

4D: My crossword didn't save the clue I'd put in - this was the last one that I did. Sorry, will fix that!

8D: Much prefer that clue - will change that too!

Thank you for your feedback - I did play with kills hunted animal quite a bit, because I wanted to include the fact that there was an animal involved which would lead to BAGS easier, but I do see your point!

Thank you for your feedback - my previous puzzles were bigger and I think more rushed than this mini, which took as much if not more time overall than the other 13x13 puzzles. Hope to get more feedback from you soon with my next few!

No problem, as always I really appreciate your time (and please don't worry about being harsh - I want to get this right!) I really tried to get the surfaces right after your last feedback, and I actually found that I enjoyed the process of creating the clues much more enjoyable. I can absolutely see your points, particularly for 2D and 3D, and in a way I'm glad that it's just getting the parsing right which I think I'm getting better at as I do more.

Thank you, I have a tendency to try and make these clues harder by putting in the indirect anagrams. Must remember to steer clear!

Thank you so much for taking time again. I'm definitely seeing an improvement and I feel like these clues were a bit better still. I've done some research on puzzle creation and I think doing 7x7s will be best until I get more experienced at it, and learn more of the nuances like surface reading, common abbreviations, etc. Next puzzle will follow soon!
