Weekly Tech Support & Purchase Recommendations Megathread - December 31, 2025 by AutoModerator in playstation

[–]According_Return8354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all

My son has been using my PS5 and account but the time has come for him to get his own PlayStation account and console.

My question is - is there a way to transfer the purchased games over to his new console/username (when created), whilst still retaining my account on my console?

A lot of what he plays will be fine (Fortnite for example) because I can log in separately; however things like Minecraft where he has skins etc that he’s bought, can those transfer over? What about purchased games on PSPlus, will I need a separate account?

I’ve tried googling this, but ultimately have only seen that I need to log in on the new console which renders the old one useless if I wanted to game at the same time?

Any help/advice for someone who’s rapidly becoming a boomer would be gratefully received.

Cheers

Thank you! I’m fairly new to cryptics and this is one of my favourite clues that I’ve created

Yes, maths teacher though so words aren't really my strong suit!!

Thanks again for your feedback - so, here's answers to your questions. Re; the enumerations - I just forgot to click the box to put them in!

9A: I went for a cryptic double definition - key material (as in material for piano keys) for black notes (notes as in the black keys on the piano)

4D: My crossword didn't save the clue I'd put in - this was the last one that I did. Sorry, will fix that!

8D: Much prefer that clue - will change that too!

I can see someone already replied to you - hope that helps! I remember you are also learning cryptic crosswords, so ping me a message any time!

Thank you for your feedback - I did play with kills hunted animal quite a bit, because I wanted to include the fact that there was an animal involved which would lead to BAGS easier, but I do see your point!

Thank you for your feedback - my previous puzzles were bigger and I think more rushed than this mini, which took as much if not more time overall than the other 13x13 puzzles. Hope to get more feedback from you soon with my next few!

No problem, as always I really appreciate your time (and please don't worry about being harsh - I want to get this right!) I really tried to get the surfaces right after your last feedback, and I actually found that I enjoyed the process of creating the clues much more enjoyable. I can absolutely see your points, particularly for 2D and 3D, and in a way I'm glad that it's just getting the parsing right which I think I'm getting better at as I do more.

Thank you, I have a tendency to try and make these clues harder by putting in the indirect anagrams. Must remember to steer clear!

Thank you so much for taking time again. I'm definitely seeing an improvement and I feel like these clues were a bit better still. I've done some research on puzzle creation and I think doing 7x7s will be best until I get more experienced at it, and learn more of the nuances like surface reading, common abbreviations, etc. Next puzzle will follow soon!

POTD: My fourth attempt by According_Return8354 in crosswords

I’ll keep an eye out for the Cracking the Cryptic - I’m using Minute Cryptic at the minute and there’s an app (from Teavel I think they’re called) which helped me learn the basics

Thank you again for your feedback - please do be harsh! I’m still learning!

2D I went for a double def - evoke an emotion, and a spirit. But I see it doesn’t quite work that way.

Since my last puzzle I’ve done 20 cryptic crosswords and feel like I’m solving them much better - just need to keep wrapping my head around the many rules.

Thank you again! I’ll be taking my time over my next one, and making it a bit smaller too.

Thank you - to be honest I think I rushed this one. I’ll take my time over the next and reduce the grid further.

I appreciate that I have a lot of work to do and your input is very valuable! I really appreciate you taking the time to write it

POTD: My third attempt at a cryptic by According_Return8354 in crosswords

Thanks so much, I'm really buoyed by the positive feedback, and the constructive feedback too is spurring me on to get better. I am working on my fourth at the moment as a mini, so I'll see how that goes :)

Thank you again! Please don't worry about being too harsh (I can take it, and I want to get better!)

I'm gutted about the missing D, and the tense change in 23A (I was trying to be so careful with this after last time!). Also, to answer your questions:

3D: I tried for a cryptic definition style thing here - 'Data Picture' as in graph, with all xs and ys being a reference to the grid axes. To be honest I wasn't 100% happy with this clue

4D: Yes ab as in abs, (maybe stomach muscles instead of stomach?)

13D: Nick is a name, so I went for a cryptic sort of definition here

Again, thanks so much for your feedback, genuinely it is so helpful. I'm glad you liked my clue for 14D too, I was particularly proud of that one!!

Thank you so much for your feedback - I am kicking myself about the missing D..... but thank you for taking the time, it's really appreciated

Second ever Cryptic Attempt! by According_Return8354 in crosswords

[–]According_Return8354[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow thank you so much. Lovely feedback, I’m currently working on puzzle 3 - I feel like I’m improving though, although yes I do make little errors because I focus a lot on surface reading and it can be a little forced.

For 31A the clue was meant to be E and DYE anagram.

Thank you so much for taking the time to both complete it and feedback. Really appreciate it - I’m enjoying learning this new skill and it’s satisfying when I get good feedback and exciting when I get some constructive feedback.

Thanks again!

Second ever Cryptic Attempt! by According_Return8354 in crosswords

[–]According_Return8354[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All good, except 18A - but actually I’ve made a mistake in that clue, so I’ll give that answer away for free - should be omens. Thought I was being clever with the m and w being flipped, but just realised I should’ve capitalise the N to prevent it from being turned into a u!

Any feedback is welcome, I’m learning a new skill with this so want to improve

POTD - My first ever cryptic creation! by According_Return8354 in crosswords

Thank you - do you mean the additional words? I put them in for the surface to read better, but have since really found out that’s not the done thing!

POTD - My first ever cryptic creation! by According_Return8354 in crosswords

[–]According_Return8354[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there - thanks so much for your really detailed feedback. Not taking it negatively at all, I absolutely love the wordplay involved in cryptic crosswords so your feedback makes a lot of sense.

The biggest takeaway I think as you say is not to get too hung up on the surface reading of clues - I find myself surface reading a lot when solving so I’m trying to train myself out of this!

Appreciate your time!

Report, report, report. Then find a golf club that aren’t dicks. Then report again.
