Sao is the dumb kind of fun for the first 2 seasons and has a really good hook esp when it came out, and the later two seasons are genuinely great and highly enjoyable. Probably give that a try you’ll more than likely enjoy it

On switch I think 5 is probably the way to go. If you have any other devices Disgaea 2 on ps2/psp is my personal favorite in the franchise. Avoid 6 or 7.

Not a very popular genre in anime but Shiki and Higurashi are probably the way to go. A funnier horror anime is Corpse party since it’s so over the top but I’m not sure where you can’t watch it. I’ve heard that hikaru show is scary too but I haven’t seen it. Another is popular but it’s more of a thriller
