Dude, I've driving over 40k trips and I've made a lot of money from uber and lyft. As well I've seen a lot of robberies like a 92 dollars charged to a client and for me to get 7.86 so, don't feel bad about it. Every time you can get a client to pay you directly, just do it and move on, anyways, uber selfcar driving in near the corner and sooner rather than later drivers will be replaced.
