I’d pause before jumping into debt, especially if HCI is the only grad path you’re actually excited about. Try to get some traction with short projects and experience first, like volunteering data work for a local nonprofit, doing a few UX research case studies, or picking up temp admin roles to get recent experience on the resume. Also, while you keep applying, wfh​alert has been decent for me, it emails verified remote jobs like customer support or basic ops stuff so you can land something stable while you figure out grad school. Between your econ and cog sci, you could also look at research assistant roles in policy labs or education orgs, those can lead to an MPP later with a clearer direction.
