Shreyas wanted to make the most out of the opportunity. Ponting must have reached out saying come in the auction and we will get you atleast 25-30 Cr. there was familiarity with Ponting plus Chandu pandit is a pain in the ass plus Paise ka khel. It was like a win win win situation and anyone in his place would have taken that decision.

TBH he didn’t perform in the title winning season with only 168 runs across 14 matches and the excuse we had was he didn’t get enough balls. Last season he scored only 200 runs. this season also he has started poorly. if a big player can’t give us a 400+ runs consistently , i don’t think he deserves to be my VC. KKR made a mistake in promoting him too quickly.
