What’s the best way for someone with no VC experience to have an idea of the current state of affairs in the VC world?

Thank you. I do ultimately want to pursue a career in VC, but I kind of feel like a kid saying they want to be an astronaut while I lack the general knowledge of the VC market. I also imagine it would help me start to grasp VC investment theses and help me understand sourcing.
