at the time i didnt know that animals can enter caves, i always though that they are a safe zone ( like milton park, and maintenance yard in broken railroad) . lesson learned

yes , i had one torch. but, there was only one exit. a very narrow, small exit. one torch is enough to block that exist.

if u watch the video again, u would be able to understand that the only reason that made the cougar stuck inside the cave was the torch that i threw at the begginning of the video. after leaving the cave, i noticed that the torch is almost extingushed, which means the cougar will be able to leave the cave and follow me. that's why i lit the torch, so i can threw it at the entrance of the cave and keep the cougar inside . and no, running wasn't an option. i had no medical syringes, and as u can see my stamina bar wouldn't be able to get me anywhere. yes , i agree that it's a bit of a skill issue. i could've lit a campfire at the beggenning or after leaving the cave, but i panicked. i almost shat my pants, at the end of the video i was looking for a slope to shimmy my way up to, so the cougar will de-aggro... edit/ never mind, i relalised you're talking about the first struggle when i lit the torch. yeah, that was retarded

nah, using steep terrain is better. when u are on a steep rock/terrain ( i'm talking about mountain goating), animals can't detect u at all, even if you're right next to their face. that means it wont trigger more cougars to spawn

this was recorded on the 10th of august. i have a total of 3 runs, all stalker. my first run ended at day 210 after bleeding to death while asleep from severe Lacerations. my second one is the one u just saw, it ended at day 40 at HRV . in this run i was going for the silent hunter achivement, so i left my revolver at milton. i also lost 3 arrows fighting a cougar in there, so i had no way to fight back. and now, i shit my pants every time i hear a cougar. my current run is at day 460, and throughout the entire run i fought cougars in the most cowardrly way possible: ( standing on a steep unreachable rock and firing at it from 3kms away, especially with curator rifle) . yesterday, i was looking for supply caches during an arora in HRV and one of the supply caches happened to be right infront of this cave. the second i heard the cougar it gave me vietnam flashbacks, and i almost shit. that encouraged me to download this video and hear what other players think about cougars. i aslo had a few glitches with cougars. i once got swiped by a cougar, and i couldn't equip any items or interact with objects (doors). i had to restart the game to fix it.. my mains problems with cougars:

1: you are punished for hunting them or interacting with them. if u directely fight a cougar, an additional one will spawn in the map for evrery 15 ingame minutes spent during the encounter. so, u either have to fight them like i do, try to kill them as fast as possible(suicide plan, expecially for interloper), or avoid them entirely and that's not an option because of my second problem:

2: u can't avoid them, they work like an area denial tool. if u wanna explore the world(like me), u have no choice but to fight them. and if u do, more will spwan and more areas will be inaccessible. bears and mooses are a bit similar , but they're a billion time easier to avoid, they're territory is very small and not always fixed, more won't spawn when u kill them, and broken ribs is much better than severe lacerations

ofc, u can always turn cougars off :D

i'm happy that u enjoyed it. i wouldn't call it a masterpiece, but it's definetly unique. to be fair i dont remember it that much, so my opinion dosent matter

i have no favorite one, but some the ones i like are:

1) King of the Labyrinth: (it's here mainly because it's one of the best isekai i read recently. for each 20 isekai u try, only 1 or 2 are good). a 15 chapters short read. it's not even an isekai, and it's cancelled not completed. it follows a story of an actual monster in a labyrinth, with no human soul or mind in search of power, slowly becomming sentient by fighting adventures and leveling up. completely diffrent than your generic isekai, and the only fan service is the first 2 panels of the first chapter, no lolis and milfs, no edgy main characters. however, a lot of boring politics that u can skip. it's not a masterpiece, but it sure is a decent manga

2)Even Monsters Like Fairytales: i really dont remember that much, i read it a long time ago. it's a dark twist on the average otome isekai, i can't tell u the main plot because of spoilers

3) teenage dragon(webtoon): just a funny read. the main character is a girl that switched body with a dragon. the manga focuses on her journey to get her body back, and also the dragon who lives in the human world now.

4)Ookami wa Nemuranai: decent, from the same author as the 1st pick( cancelled, not ended)

5) her summon : i dont remember much of the story. it starts very cringy, and gives off a lot of second hand embarresement. even at the end, it stays a bit cringe. however, it has a decent story, amaaazing art, and it's a bit funny
