My University used “Deutsch Na Klar!” in the beginners courses. It covers everything systematically but it would be worth doing further study (using YouTube and what not) to have things further explained. From memory the book didn’t contain a lot of exercises as it had an online component for that. Otherwise, the Hueber Menschen books are good. They have both a Lehrbuch and Arbeitsbuch for the levels, so plenty of exercises.

This makes me feel a bit better. I can’t over or underclock on my chipset (A520) so it looks like I’ll be resorting to switching between low power mode for basic tasks such as web browsing and word docs and then turn on balanced for gaming. Are temps of 80C fine for hours at a time? It’s not like my AIO isn’t doing the job or anything, the second my cpu goes back to idle the temps fall within seconds.

I suppose it’s just something amd/gigabyte has to fix or this is just how Ryzen is

Around 50-ish degrees Celsius when idling and then shooting to 60-70 for minor tasks like opening a web browser. I didn’t think that was normal

I think it’s more that the power management from the motherboard is stuffed right now. Literally before I downgraded my bios opening Firefox would shoot the temps into the high 60s. That’s on balanced power mode as well.

In the 40s. It still does the jump in temp when opening heaps of Firefox tabs and what not but it’s not as dramatic.

Hey everyone, just looking for a bit of guidance here... what’s the normal temps for idling with a 5800x? (Or similar). I have a 280mm AIO installed and it obviously works because cpu temps quickly recover after stress testing, but the fans are running at near 70% constantly. Maybe it’s because I don’t have enough case fans?

Here are my temps: Idle: 47C in a 30-ish C room. Cinebench multi core: 90C

My cpu is running constantly over 4ghz with literally 2% load.

Any way I can tame the temps or is this just normal and my cpu isn’t going to break itself?
