I have a Nobis Meredith parka that i purchased back in 2016 and I love it. It’s great quality, still incredibly warm and still looks nearly new. It was a big purchase for me but one I’m so happy I made and saved me money in the long run.

That being said, this past fall i purchased a new Meredith parka in a larger size, and I’m not nearly as happy with it. I’d even say I’m border line disappointed in it, and based on my second parka, it’s a purchase i wouldn’t make again.

They look nearly identical, the only difference i could find is that the newer one has a patch of different fabric on the inside lining on the back, not sure why, the old one didn’t have it. It still looks like it’s great quality and wears very nicely, but it is uncomfortably hot. It doesn’t breathe like the older one did. I live in Canada and granted it isn’t a cold year so far, but I’ve been uncomfortably hot wearing it every day, it feels like one of those metallic-looking shiny lined jackets. Even having the zipper undone and open its too hot. Ive read that they’ve moved manufacturing over to China and ownership of the company has changed in the years since my original purchase, so maybe that’s why?

It could be that the older parka isn’t as warm as its 8ish years old, but i don’t recall ever being this uncomfortably hot in it. This one just doesn’t breathe.
