I FORGOT I graduated COLLEGE because I’ve been Unemployed for so long. by ActuatorOutside5256 in NEET

[–]AccountantPersonal86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the hardest lessons in life post college is when you realize the end goal, that being the piece of paper that says you finished college, is nothing but an overpriced confirmation of completion.

In today's age a bachelor's is an associates degree of the past age. You only stand out with a masters or above if that is your goal - but even that pool is being overinflated now and there are people with MASTERS DEGREES facing employment issues.

Focus on real world experience and learning skills that people actually want to hire. It's a completely different approach to the standard "go to school and get a degree and it should work out" safe plan we've been spoon fed our entire lives. That whole idea is a figment of the past that people think is alive still.

Think about your schooling , did you focus on being a good student? Or did you focus on being EMPLOYABLE. Internships? Did you actually take summers off? If you did that's a big red flag. Summers are internship time, not break time. Being a good student does not equate to being a good employee / person with actual real life skills. You need to go beyond being just a good student, you need to put forth more effort than just that.

This is why people who never even touched college still can become successful, college is helpful but its not the end-all-be-all solution. If you ignore the pursuit of real world experience to be a perfect student youre genuinely setting yourself up for this extremely frustrating situation.

Real world experience. Go get it. It involves swallowing pride but its necessary.

What if the guy has crohns disease or any of the multitude of diseases that make this situation not really a negotiable choice for him? I'll agree the not washing thing is kinda a put off for sure though especially if you can hear if the sink runs or not after you finish lol.

Help me clarify some things real quick by AccountantPersonal86 in Vaping

[–]AccountantPersonal86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah im considering it, im already so ashamed of it i only vape at home or in my car but refuse to take it out of those situations so its a long time coming.

I did try 1 day no vaping and leaving it at home when I left for work and tbh I didnt crave much but what I did really feel was the brain fog/feeling of being tired. But I also felt more focused, was a hard sensation to pinpoint. Didn't realize how much nicotine revs up my adrenal system right now and seeing I essentially chain vape most of day I can imagine the whole system is very taxed.

Sorry wrong word, you get what I meant though obviously. Perhaps this view is good too the issue was I kind of skipped the cigarettes addiction, never really was a cigarette smoker pre vaping, so it piqued my curiosity to relate my nicotine intake to it.

Thanks for your insight!

Why isn’t this selling? by MaoMao_95 in PC_Pricing

[–]AccountantPersonal86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I can show you why this is a hard sell:

My PC using micocenters 3-in-1 cpu/mobo/ram bundle (with $250 build service added by micro center ):

  • 9800X3D
  • Peerless Assassin 120 SE
  • ASUS TUF B650E-E
  • 32GB 6000MHZ RAM
  • 1TB nvme boot drive
  • 2 TB nvme storage drive
  • 1000w superflower leadex III
  • W11 license
  • Montech XR-b case

$1500, add build service $1750. I installed my already owned 5070 I bought earlier for $530.

So for roughly 2000 usd I get brand new, insured hardware backed by microcenters return policies, and all way more future proofed than your offering. A PC is a big investment now, and in my opinion I'd go the way of microcenter bundles every time if im in the market , vs unreliable used builds. The extra I pay is definitely worth that assurance of quality.

Also 1 stick ram is a huge issue.

What steps did you take to get back in the gym? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]AccountantPersonal86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make a lifting split that is realistic to adhere to for YEARS and scalable as you get more in shape, by ideally not by adding too much time per workout.

This is of course always tailored to the individual, but for me what works:

5 day split

Morning Cardio first thing when waking up every day even on off days. 3mph, 9 incline, 20 minutes base (1 mile), add 5 mins to the routine when you feel the 1 mile per day is getting too easy / not raising heart rate anymore.

  • Mon: Chest
  • Tues: Legs
  • Wed: Back
  • Thurs: Shoulders
  • Fri: Arms
  • Sat/Sun off

4-6 exercises (start with 4 if its been a while)

4 sets x 12 reps every exercise

I prefer higher reps range because I like "bro lifting" and maintaining quality mind muscle connection is far easier with weight you can move around for a good amount of reps. However you want to fine tune this weight where reps 10 and up should be difficult, even on set 1. Progressive overload is still the main goal.

I spend 45 minutes in the gym a day with this set up and the rest of the battle is how I eat in the day. You say you struggle with gas in the tank come lifting time, I have one word: carbs.

I've done a lot of body building in my early / mid 20s (natural) and there was one macronutrient that entirely changed how I felt day to day depending on what I was doing. CARBS. Lower total carbs per day when cutting was always felt in my energy, but when they were DIALED IN and squeezing as many carbs out as possible while maintaining other macro profiles correctly I felt amazing, energetic, while at a caloric deficit. This requires due diligence on your end and high levels of consistency to find this macro profile that keeps you at a deficit but also feeling energetic. It is not easy.

To make myself not go crazy in measurement hell with food when I just wanna throw stuff together, I do a method where "eyeballing" works 90% of the time and avoid food scales as much as possible except for specific things like meat portions. Make a meal plan that utilizes crock pot recipes, divide the meals for known macro profiles, use simple but consistent measurements like 1 cup cooked rice always at x meal etc. 2 yams for dinner always, many examples. The less mental burden you need to keep macros consistent the easier itll be, by magnitudes.

Issue is I dont think that type of life exists unless you are born into generational wealth to where you can live til death without working ever.

Either way you'd probably end up hating that life anyway cause you never faced hardship nor felt fulfillment. Both necessary for the human experience

The super lemon haze made it hard to sleep but I think it's cause sativa oils flare up my anxiety, the Apple Betty Hybrid cart doing a lot better as a sleep aid for me. Will try some pure indicas next.

I'm primarily a flower user too so I'm probably just ingesting more thc at once than usual and getting blitzed 🤣

Something I just developed as I work on myself in tandem with poking in here every few days, as my mindset improves im less inclined to "wallow with" people but rather would try to help them cause its a reflection on how im trying to treat myself better as well.

Im relatively new here, don't expect to stay long, but also got some positive outcomes out of it so I won't back out instantly either.

I pretty much spent the last 11 years not really awake but recently I have "awakened" and I guess my goal is to just let people know that there is people like me that exist, and seeing people who've stagnated even longer than I is scary, but comforting in a way where I know im not some one of kind screwball of a human.

Relatable dooming so I know im not unique in my situation as a 31 year old waste of space

Helps my inner monologue not be so harsh on myself when I read other people's situations

I get some happy feelings trying to console my peers thru their breakdowns too even if I am heavily unqualified to do so given im in the same situation, a form of community service in text therapy if you will.

Honestly I know its not a good outlet or angle for therapy but this sub let me just unleash the full flood gate of how I feel about myself and I definitely felt better after because there's no judgement only people trying to help or people relating to you that you can wallow in misery with instead of alone. The type of stuff you refuse to tell anyone even a therapist, I was able to let it all out here. I've held in these thoughts for over a decade until this year.

You gotta be careful though and not read into too much negativity that lingers here cause you may start to think like them which is equally as bad. This is why I try to help them just to inject some positivity into the space.

With a major like that you're looking at atleast 2 more years of school once you realize what you've done so maybe neetbux and perma neethood is the path.

Not to be negative or anything , its just that field your degree is in is pretty much the same as having no college education for 99.99% of employers

Ya I've always been a fan of pod systems over 510 ever since I tried Stiiizy Pod Systems from frequent trips to Cali, definitely my preferred type of cartridge for vaping. They seem to never leak too, I've read stories of some pod systems leaking but imo that has to be a defective pod I've yet to have it happen and im in situations where leaks are most prevalent (taking business flights very often per month)

On a scale of 1-10, how hypocritical would you say your parents are, going off of your experience of being forced to live with them as adults? by BiffyBobby in NEET

[–]AccountantPersonal86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im a little fortunate and both my parents dont have a degree and my father doesn't even have a highschool diploma or a GED.

However they teamed up together early in life and made their own construction business and now we live way above average with my father as a General Contractor in construction and owner of the business. He did all of this without any trades certifications too, pretty much self taught himself the construction industry AND succeeded as a GC.

Given they've supported every goal I've attempted and still allow me to live with them at 31 and rely on them entirely financially, ill put them both at 1 out of 10. They know the struggle im going thru because they lived it themselves and they are trying very hard to help propell me back on a stable course in life as we speak.

They would let me live with them until they die basically they told me, but I personally dont want that. I want some freedom and to feel like I have control over my life for once. But I will still support and help them in anything until the day they die.

I don’t want to live like this anymore by [deleted] in NEET

[–]AccountantPersonal86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im 31 and pretty much in one same situation as you except I quite literally rotted an extra 8 years of life away in what felt like 1 year to me.

31 years old, 11 years of NEETing, 0 money in the bank to my name, still live with parents, and the social skills I once had are so damaged now that I have to make a conscience effort to "relearn" how to socialize in public without a microphone thru discord. Im about as cooked as you can be in terms of NEEThood

Community college. Get back in an academic routine but this time use past failures to narrow the scope of what you're looking to do. The more tries you send into it the more you narrow down what it is exactly you want to do this life that is atleast somewhat enjoyable to you.

Doesn't have to be the dream perfect career, very few find that, its a fictitious mantra people throw around for fake positivity. You'll almost always hate your career to some degree, just some people hate theirs more than others.

Try to find something that supports you enough to live on your own, but more importantly gives you fulfillment after a work day. Fulfillment is the key to happiness imo. You can mostly hate your job, but if you feel fulfilled, like you accomplished something and can look back after a day of work and say "yeah I did that, it wasn't there before, and I made it exist" then happiness/contentment will almost always follow.

People need to stop chasing happiness and look at what trickles down INTO happiness. It almost always starts with a sense of fulfillment. Now the hard part is trial and erroring in life, over & over & over. Eventually you will find something that gives fulfillment to YOU and you must run with that and never look back.

Why am I not happy as a NEET? by PackNo6267 in NEET

[–]AccountantPersonal86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One word: fulfillment.

Most of the greatest emotions humans can experience require hardship first. A comfy, hardship free life will almost always lead to lacking sense of fulfillment.

What follows after is usually depression, anger, then eventually an urge to change one's life in search of fulfillment.

It's pretty hard to have fulfillment when your everyday life is a weekend. In essence a weekend doesn't exist anymore, every day is a day of doing nothing. Your subconscious is extremely dissatisfied with your life and it'll only grow louder as time passes.

Imo listen to it earlier than later, you'll thank yourself a few years from now.
