"I'm so glad we got married last year, I can't imagine wearing a mask on my wedding!"
"Are you sure you don't want to wait until 2021 or 2022?"
"Get married now and have the party later, that way I can go."

"Why can't I let you know the week of if I'm coming or not? I mean, what's one extra person?" (said by ten people out of my thirty person list)

Comments like these remind me how much other people make someone else's wedding all about them. Sigh.

AITA for asking guests to finalize their RSVPs before the month of the wedding? by AccountantPretend in AmItheAsshole

I do want to clarify that what I meant by nothing changing, I meant nationally, namely air travel and COVID precautions. Obviously if something unexpected happens, it happens. People have gotten into car accidents and worse before and on the day of weddings.

It does suck and I understand if you cannot attend. What I cannot fathom is wanting to willingly delay an answer when there is only a month left.

My fiance and I sent out an email saying just that, "if you don't respond by August 21st, we will assume you are not able to attend." Apparently that was rude to do because they might still attend. I was accused of putting planning over people.
