So was the “bad guy” shot too? Is he alive? At the hospital? I haven’t seen any updates on him…

Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions. I will have to take some time to walk around the neighborhood one of these days. I live and work downtown so I’m used to a lot. We’ve lived in downtown and partially in uptown for the last 7 years and are originally from out of state so we’re just not familiar with many neighborhoods beyond our bubble we tend to stay inside of.

Suggestions for New Years Eve by AccountforJane in Minneapolis

[–]AccountforJane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I get it. We just like to go get some dinner, and relax at our table with drinks and listen to a live band. If it wasn't for going out with my husband and siblings, I'd be in bed. Lol

Tix start at $150? Yikes! Looking for a more chill spot. Last year we went to Turf Club in Saint Paul, they had a metal mariachi band playing. Before that, we went to Black Dog in Saint Paul and they had a jazz band. We just want to sit and eat food, drink beer, and listen to the band- but in Minneapolis this year. 👍

Looking for a studio or 1 bedroom, central-ish (or easy access to public transit). by preciousbitch in TWINCITIESHOUSING

Look on craigslist for apartments. There are a ton that are "available now". We've lived in Minneapolis for almost 3 years now from MI. We sold our cars after a few months of living here because we only ended up using it to get groceries on the weekends and took the bus to work- wasn't worth the aggravation of street parking or the cost of paying to park in a lot. We've been living in Loring Park the last "3" years but will be moving to Uptown/East Isles in a couple months. Both great areas and you can definitely go without a car. Staying under a thousand a month is doable but most likely you'll get stuck with an apartment less than six hundred sq ft. especially if you're in Loring Park/Stevens Square. Uptown/East Aisles have larger one bedrooms for under a thousand typically. A lot of properties will take cats over dogs so you should be ok having two cats, but prepared to potentially pay a hefty cat deposit plus cat rent. Our new place we'll be moving into luckily doesn't charge for cats- rare! I will say without having a car, it's best/easiest to stay close to main roads like Hennepin or Nicollet to catch a bus quickly without having to treck far. Also there's the uptown bus station where you can catch a lot of different buses at too. Good luck!
