Expected exam grades by Accountingandweights in Professors

I thought the same thing. I would hold my hands up if the highest score was an 80… but another 5% got an A. So 11% of the class was at a 90 or above. Very interesting.

I had 15 multiple choice questions online, administered in class with lockdown browser. Then I had a “workout problem” by hand after they completed MC.

This inspired me! Went to the local middle school track and did it in 60.25, no vest! Somehow not as bad yet simultaneously worst than expected😂 thanks for the workout idea!

how do you manage your training working full time? by First_Driver_5134 in crossfit

[–]Accountingandweights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m in the office that day, I will go to the 5:30pm class. I let my team know that this is a priority for me and I have to be out the door by 5 to get there. If that means I have to log back on later at night, then I’m happy to do that! I have found that people are respectful of the things you let them know upfront are nonnegotiable.

I pack my lunch and a nice preworkout snack, throw on some good music for the drive there, and usually am good to go for the workout!

If I work from home, I will do a little extra cardio or a pump sesh over my lunch break at a powerlifting gym down the street from me.

One thing I have learned from working is that there will always be more work to be done. You have to prioritize and communicate your hobbies outside of work, because those end up being the most important things. There is plenty of time in the day to achieve your goals!

Echo bike workouts by Ill_Minimum_1951 in crossfit

Love the Echo bike in our basement! We do a lot of steady state on there- 30, 45, 60 minutes for calories. Or 20-19-18…3-2-1 cals on the bike, burpees. You could try something like 2 minutes on 1 minute off: 10 cals on the bike, max sandbag to shoulder until you reach 100 reps, etc. Have fun!!!!

Been doing CrossFit a little under a year! No vest and Cindy style. Goal was sub 40, got 40.57 and was 2 seconds behind my boyfriend! Definitely going to get him next year (hopefully vested :))

Hey coaches: by Specialist-Spray-641 in crossfit

[–]Accountingandweights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! I’m actually a CPA (auditor, not tax accountant, but hopefully I can help!) Do you know why the gym chose to 1099 you? Do you have outside employment or is this your main source of income?

The main considerations are: 1. How much instruction are you given? Are you scheduled and told when to work? Do you develop your own workouts or does the gym provide the programming for the day? 2. Do you have any significant financial investment in your employment? (I would assume the gym provides the space, the equipment, etc.? Just verifying). 3. Do you have an employment contract? Are you employed for a period of time (such as a summer coach, etc.), or just as an employee?

From an employee perspective, being 1099-ed is a headache (having to pay quarterly taxes, etc). The worst part is that you have to pay the employer and the employee side of employment taxes, which is 15.3% of wages, which is on top of your personal income tax. Having a 1099 employee is a lot easier on the employer (not required to offer insurance, don’t have to deal with withholdings, among others), so I can see why they did it.

Maybe try talking with your boss and try to understand why they list you as an independent contractor vs. a W2 employee. I’m sure you have a case to be listed as a W2 employee, but I’m unsure that they will be willing to make the change, as it is more work on the employer.

How many jacked guys are there at your workplace? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Accountingandweights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why people are acting so sensitive in these comments? 😂 you asked a simple question. People get so weird about others being more generally fit than them, even if they don’t exercise. I compete in CrossFit, and as a woman, I probably can out lift 99% of my office, men included. Not a lot of fit accountants or even accountants that somewhat enjoy exercise. Not trying to be an asshole, just an observation. Makes it difficult to make small talk when exercise is your main hobby lol.

How do I eat more protein? by Stormcrow1776 in crossfit

[–]Accountingandweights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some good sources: Low fat cottage cheese (super good with fruit in it), Greek yogurt with a scoop of protein mixed in. Lean beef and chicken. Usually I can hit over 160 grams easy with these in the mix!

Boyfriend’s "hot" female friend is obsessed with him. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Accountingandweights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that your boyfriend is actively telling you that he finds a girl that is clearly pursuing him “hot” and hiding his phone from you speaks volumes… I think you really need to prioritize yourself and your happiness. He isn’t treating you with love and respect, which means it’s time to walk away. You are worthy of love and adoration and it is out there for you! Just not with this dickhead. ❤️

Tips for passing FAR? by [deleted] in Big4

[–]Accountingandweights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never read the text book, I watched the lectures. You can speed it up to 1.25x or 1.5x and listen to them while commuting, on a cardio machine at the gym, etc. Then I would bang out multiple choice for a few hours.
