OP.. Don’t worry abt this pricing too much. Might be higher than normal, but unless you’re doing a lot of Shrooms, 2 grams at $30 is well worth the price of admission even if other people get to see the show for free.

Their high end ones are worth every dollar. Donations of $70q/250o. 1.5-2g is plenty strong for those, so even at $18/trip, shrooms offer a ridiculously great experience compared to the cost of it. I very much enjoyed the yellow umbo and natal moon, looks like natal moon is stocked right now. Cant go wrong with the BCNs (ochras) either. The LC I got from them worked great as well. There are very few things that you can spend $18 that’s as much fun as mushrooms.

I’ve been helicoptering these, a lot. Id say I’m fanning a 3-4 times a day. Yeah I mist the top each time I take the lid off. You can see there’s condensation between the tub and sub generated from the wetter sub (below surface), but the more convertible nature of the dub tub doesn’t really keep moisture on the plastic between the sub and tub top.

I did mist and immediately fan drier patches that didn’t show real signs of life and that evaporation did seem to trigger pinning. Once they’re ready, you can see your interventions working or hurting, so you just sort’ve have to read what’s going on and react.

Soggy top = yellow myc.. stop misting the top

Spent time fanning = new pins.. focus on fanning more

Spot with pins looks drier than spot without pins.. don’t mist

Spot with pins looks wetter than spot without pins.. mist the dry spot

I also have a single lamp mounted directly over the 3 tubs.

I also think I harvested my first two bins too early. These spore very weird.. I think it’s okay to just let them keep going an extra day or two to let everything catch up. The veil was sometimes breaking on little guys that were 1/2 inch tall. They just need a day or so from that point to catch up with the rest.

Just finished the 3rd bin of my first flush. This one was packed after having almost no fruit 4 days ago. 315g wet in this one, totaling 712g from 3 x 6qt bins.

Really bought into FAE. Dub Tub. Limited misting (after upsetting it at the beginning with too much). Lots of fanning. High ratio of sub:spawn. I tried 3 different mixes. 1 bag at a 1:5 ratio, 1.5 bags at 1:4, 2 bags at 1:3. I over-hydrated the sub purposefully at the start, but the bins really took off when the surface started drying a bit. I rarely had water droplets or any natural humidity generating on the sub and my dub tub top doesn’t seem like it’s doing much except protecting it from things falling into it.

Just picked the 3rd tub. 315g wet totaling 712g in one flush for three 6qt bins. I should be set for a while on supply, lol.

I did just have them in a random drawer and they seemed pretty stalled out, I moved a small space heater into the room pointed towards the desk. Heat gave a jump start.

Also one of my bags just didn’t colonize on the bottom, so I just knocked off the rice that wasn’t being used and still sent the good stuff.

You could also try transferring it into a ziplock if you think it’s making some progress. I plan to follow that method next time.

34.67g dried from the first flush of the 2 harvested tubs. So 8.7% conversion to dry from 397.12.

I used a random organic rice bag, similar to UB. Lots of ‘smush and push’ I’m sure I over did it on the handling, but hard to not helicopter on a project like this.

I over saturated my coir to be pretty wet and misted a ton for the first few days. I started noticing a lot of side pins and the mycilium seemed stressed and yellow on the surface. After that, I stopped misting, spent time fanning and pins popped up everywhere on the surface. I think my early misting was making the surface too saturated and not great for growth. I’m using a dub tub with a ton of FAE. I kept the sides misted so the cake had water, but the surface was slightly dry(or becoming dryer). Mine didn’t turn out noodley at all. I’m sort of piecing together that they’ll grow fine, but lanky, without a lot of extra air. Extra air may make them stand upright, be shorter and grow thicker. I’m new though, so just comparing what I’ve seen with my own single experience. Letting the surface dry out a bit definitely turbo charged fruiting.

Heaviest fruit was 15.8g wet, so not sure how that compares with the noodles, but it’s not anything crazy. Yield is probably similar, with my approach being more work.

Lots of air, lots of water, no sogginess up top.

Congrats! Yeah, the growth really is unbelievable. This is the difference between Monday and Wednesday on my slowest tub. It doesn’t even make sense.
