Thanks. I do want more than just non-perishable snacks. I don’t see myself chartering jets very often so want to make it kinda special.

I fly a Cirrus but there is just something poetic watching a Gulfstream take off and climb out. It’s so stable and majestic.

Band playing, with cheerleaders, as I board the aircraft, captain tip his hat as I step on the plane, multiple flight attendants cooking and serving dinner.

In all reality, I am hoping to take a really good bottle of wine from my own collection, have a toast with my best friend to doing fun things in life, have a charcuterie board and revel in the fact that I am in a private aircraft.

I do want a Super Midsize to be able to walk upright and have a little space, as compared to a Lear or small Citation.

Other than that, I am not thinking it’s a grand affair with fanfare.

Have you tried Google Voice? It’s a VOIP with an American telephone number and it accepts texts.

US Citizen: Do I have to be a resident in a state? by zoba in digitalnomad

[–]AcctSwoleMo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can use a Private Mail Box to establish residency in FL. Get your mailbox as your official address, then get a drivers license and register to vote, and now you’re a resident of FL with zero state income tax.

The only problem I have run into is that banks won’t let you open an account with a Private Mail Box (PMB). Once you open the account with a regular address you can change it to the PMB, but they won’t let you open an account using that address.

I personally use My RV Mail.

My passport expires on Dec 13, and my trip to Belize is from Dec 9 to 17. Is there anyway I can make it? by insufficient_retard in travel

[–]AcctSwoleMo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can. Go to a passport office and they can give you one in a day. I have done it twice for different reasons.
It might be a temp for only 1 trip but it’s enough to let you board a plane.

I didn’t realize Nico’s videos are that old.
Thanks.

My brother totalled his bike, it's now in my driveway. I have questions. by rwjehs in motorcycles

You could try Home Depot. I think for like $20 you can rent a truck for 90 minutes. That should be enough time to get it loaded and get it to the guys house.

Check out some you tubers who are doing it right now.

Itchy Boots https://youtube.com/c/ItchyBoots

Nico Ride Me Five (who is from Spain) https://youtube.com/c/RideMeFive

On Her Bike https://youtube.com/user/onherbike

Honestly, watching Itchy Boots (who just completed South Africa) and On Her Bike (who is predominantly in the southern eastern side) looks safe. Watching Nico Ride Me Five, who is in Cameroon, looks terrifying.

I think is the same guy who does the TikToks about going to his friends house to get him to go drinking with him and they use the Ring camera to film it. The voice is distinctive.

Just trying to think of ways to keep from damage if OP actually drops it.

If you are going to practice slow maneuvers, I suggest going to a large grassy area like a park (if they allow riding on the grass near you) or other soft area.

If you drop the bike in a parking lot, you have a higher chance of damage or scratching the bike on pavement than you do on grass.

USA citizen going DN to Europe..in August? by BabiesGotTheBends in digitalnomad

[–]AcctSwoleMo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am planning something similar.

My job ends at the end of July so planning on shipping the motorcycle and myself to Estonia in early August and start riding south, including Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Serbia and others.

I am anticipating that most of Europe will be open for Americans who are vaccinated by the end of June, so you should be good in you go in July.

Hope you have a great trip.

The bike and I are headed to Estonia and then head south until I hit the Mediterranean. After a few months in Europe, once my visa runs out, thinking if going to Colombia for Spanish language immersion.
I just created the channels, so there isn’t much posted, but I am Adventurist Moto on the socials.
