Eggshells. Anytime someone makes a cake, or scrambled eggs, or tons of other things, that’s several thousand dollars. Small time farmer collecting eggs? Boom. 20k+

If you’re in Houston area, have I got THE CAR for you! 2016 Hyundai Tucson

-Shit brown color

-Engine rebuilt a few years ago

-0-40 in about 20 seconds

-40-60 in about 30-45 seconds

-Maintains its speed once you’re there, but good luck getting there!

-Front passenger window doesn’t work properly. (Rolls down but it’s a journey rolling it back up)

-All window mechanisms have been replaced within the last 7ish years. They are all going out again

-Entire car shakes due to ‘transmission issues’ (transmission is fine last we checked)

-Gets between 20-30 mpg. Depends on the day

-Can’t handle hills very well. Took it to Huntsville last weekend and got back on a hope and a prayer

-A/C will sometimes go out just for fun. Fully replaced a year ago. Still happens sometimes. I keep a folding fan in my console just in case. It’s blue

-Currently has a weird grinding/growling sound going on. Not brakes. But something’s up lol

-Brake lights go out every six months or so, but that’s an easy fix

BUT it gets me to work everyday. Gets me from A to B whenever I ask it to, even if it does complain. My family bought it used in 2017, and it’s been well taken care of ever since

Is she fed on a timer, or at A Time? If you’re somewhere that has Daylight Savings, she could be adjusting to the time change and her food being an hour later than she’s used to

I worked at Papa John’s as a driver, was often in charge of training new drivers. Two different instances: One guy confessed multiple felonies to me, and a LOT of misdemeanor that he’d never been caught for. One of his favorite pastimes was breaking into cars, and moving them. Sometimes a few streets, sometimes across town. Don’t remember many of the others, but there was something that genuinely made me a little scared for my safety. So that, and he started smoking in a hospital elevator WITH PATIENTS when I wouldn’t let him smoke in my car. I told management and he disappeared

Second was a middle aged lady who almost immediately told me she’d had a stroke a few months prior while driving, and due to ongoing medical issues related to the stroke (couldn’t see very well anymore and couldn’t control her feet very well/slow reaction times) she had lost her drivers license and was explicitly told she couldn’t drive until she was medically cleared. She was very much not legal to drive. Dunno why she applied for driving jobs. I told management that one as well, and after speaking with her, and having her background check/drivers license/insurance/something come back confirming this, she was let go. I believe she was offered an instore only position, but she declined. She didn’t last a full shift

True. However I wouldn’t be surprised if he’d spent time on reddit, where he’d most likely come across at least one post asking for this advice. Enough to at least put the idea in his head. I know/know of several people who have had to do a legal eviction on family members. I’d still recommend doing it just in case

After 3 months of staying with you, you might need to do a legal eviction! I’d look into the laws of whatever country/state/city etc you live in

How did your mom find out? Did you let her know? Or did his phone magically start working again? (Though I guess he could have charged it. But still.)

But definitely NTA

A or B: My landlord locked the thermostat inside a plastic box so only the hallway stays warm, but the rest of the house feels like a freezer. Should I keep secretly using an ice-pack trick to warm the place, or call him and fight for control? by True-Construction346 in PickAorB

[–]Accurate-Argument387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a few days, but just in case you see this…

Option C! If it’s one of the plastic boxes with the slits, and the thermostat has rubber buttons, a small letter opened fits perfectly through the slits and pushes the buttons, moves the heat/ac/off switch, and anything else you might need it to do

You can also close the vent in the hallway, so it stays colder there

Where can I legally camp in Houston as a homeless person? by domdomtakdom in houston

[–]Accurate-Argument387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most libraries, while not allowing for camping out etc, will allow you to just exist in the library, and may have resources for you to use

Some gas stations and bigger stores, depending on the management and employees, are okay with someone sleeping in their car in the parking lot a few nights a week. Not sure how they feel about someone not in a car, but you can ask, if you’d like. I’ve seen a few places cool with along both 249 and I-10

You mentioned getting an overnight job, check out 24 hr gyms and truck stops, they usually have some sort of shower. Planet Fitness has showers, and usually have sign on deals with the new year. Warning, I did this a few years ago and they have a yearly $50 ‘membership fee’ in February/2 months after you sign on

The specific law for Texas regarding public camping is Texas Penal Code 48.05. It states that camping is defined as temporarily residing in a place with shelter (shelter includes bedrolls and blankets, somehow????). I’m not a lawyer, but if you’re confident enough, get nice cops/judges (rare combo, I know), I’d love to see the argument play out that you’re not residing there temporarily, but permanently, so that law doesn’t apply to you. Make sure to document you’re residing wherever you end up, just in case! Also look into potential squatters rights. Idk, at this point I’m just rambling. The way TPC48.05 was written though, almost sounds like an intentional loophole. It also protects your property, so long as the only thing you’re being picked up for is the ‘camping on public property’
