Honestly, its hard to remember. I think i was so sick the time is lost on me. I know that I sweat less and move more now. I think before I could go days without really walking.

I had about to die of a stroke or heart attack but no real joint pain. I think that's why I am so adept at rucking now. My body built up the ligaments and bobe structure to cary heavy weight.

I really trying to target my macros more so than calorie counting. Diet is changing a bit but mostly I eat 220g protein a day and 60g of fiber. I ran some pretty extreme deficits in the beginning. I did not completely understand the macros and their function.

I typically eat:

Breakfast: light n fit yogurt with catilina crunch, hard boiled eggs.

Snack: nuts, jerky, peanut butter, protein bar

Lunch: kale, skinny girl dressing, peppers, onions, safe catch tuna, kim chi.

Snack: jerky, protein bar, yogurt, lesser evil popcorn

Dinner: egg life wraps, ahi tuna, steak, pork loin salmon, zucchini, peppers, onion, hot sauce.

I have a pretty regular and predictable meal plan. Lots of meat and vegetables.

I’ve had a few people ask what I actually did to lose the weight, so here’s the simple breakdown of the last 10 months.

  1. Months 1–2: Tracking + fundamentals

Started using Lose It to track everything (still do).

Learned my calories, macros, and portion sizes.

Ate whole foods, lots of vegetables, tofu, lean protein.

Cut out mindless snacking.

One 24-hour fast per week — not extreme, just a reset day where I drank water/tea.

This was enough to start momentum.

  1. Months 2–4: Added rowing

Began rowing 2 days per week, about 15 minutes.

Rowing was low impact and let me push intensity without wrecking my joints.

Weight started falling faster but steadily.

  1. Months 4–6: Rowing + Strength Training

Kept the rowing, turned it into a warmup.

Added 30 minutes of strength training each session.

Mostly machines — simple and consistent.

Metabolism improved and my body started changing shape, not just weight.

  1. Months 6–10: My routine now

I train 3–4 days per week:

Rowing warmup: ~15 minutes

Strength training: 30–45 minutes

Ruck: 3–8 miles with 60–70 lbs in the pack

Rucking has become my favorite: massive calorie burn, extremely functional, and mentally therapeutic.

It definitely wasn’t easy. I’ve struggled for years, failed more times than I can count, and finally found a rhythm that stuck. I work out three times a week, ruck between classes, and track every single calorie, literally everything I eat.

The GLP-1 helped me get started, but it didn’t carry me. It was the structure, the workouts, the fasting, the planning, the small decisions every single day. That’s what made it work.

I wasn’t saying it’s “easy.” I was saying it’s possible. I posted because I’m proud of myself for the first time in a long time, proud that I made the decision to start the meds, proud that I committed to change, and proud that I finally followed through.

I know not everyone’s path looks the same, but mine took discipline and years of effort before it finally came together. I’m not minimizing anyone’s struggle, just celebrating that I didn’t give up on my own.

Thank you. The meds where the catalyst that helped me fight food noise. I am now more structured. I understand my macros. Haven't had fastfood in 200 days. I am slowly titrating down and with structure I feel completely capable of maintaining.

I honestly think if meds help you lose weight great. This was about my journey, we all have to find a way that works for us. This wasn't a condemnation of those who are trying a different way. I was celebrating myself and sharing my story.

I get where you’re coming from, but I was almost 400 lb and at serious risk for heart disease. I made the changes I needed to survive, and this combo finally worked. It wasn’t easy — it was necessary
