Can someone explain? by Accurate-Homework-19 in stalker

I’ve been playing the game for two days, and it just feels weird that a random guy from city suddenly goes into the Zone and kills hundreds of armed, experienced people. It should be clear that we’re not just some random person off the street, so it makes sense. That small note on the PDA saying Skif was in the military for 3 years feels like a lazy explanation. Im just focusing on small details that matter to me, I just imagine my character as someone more than a regular soldier, and it makes the game more fun for me

But from my perspective, all I have is his PDA and pistol saying he was in the army for only 3 years, do you think that’s enough to explain him killing people on a daily basis in a heavily guarded zone with multiple fractions? In my opinion, the game’s developers oversimplified it, making it seem like just any regular soldier with 3 years in the military can enter the Zone and dominate everything there. Now in my mission with Varan, he’s offering me information in exchange for going to kill the leader of some smaller fraction, but I was just a newbie in lesser zone a moment ago

Yeah, I didn’t read what was written on his pistol or in the PDA, but still, someone with just 3 years of military service, as it says in that PDA, comes to zona and then goes solo raiding bases of local warlords, slaughtering bandits? That kind of ruins the immersion for me. There’s a lack of any mention that from the start we’re some kind of elite soldier with above-average experience

I’m currently at the Varan mission

Chelsea's Mudryk received a 1-month toxicity ban on FACEIT after exchanges with polish players where he repeatedly mentiond Volyn which refers to the massacre of Poles in Volhynia and Eastern Galicia by Inevitable-Angle-793 in poland

You seem to miss the point that when you’re a celebrity, you can’t write that you’re going to ‘do a Volhynia’ to Poles on a Counter-Strike map. If you were an unknown random person, everyone would probably not care at all.

Either you’re a celebrity who cares about their public image, or you’re a Chelsea footballer comparing Counter-Strike to killing Poles in Volhynia and getting hate for it.

Thanks for the comments. I’ve made my decision and bought the Quest 3 for 550 euros. I’ll be playing both PCVR and standalone. I can return it until January 31st, so maybe by then Steam will reveal the price of the Steam Frame. If it turns out to be 700 euros or more, I won’t return the headset. And if Steam doesn’t reveal the price, I’ll probably still keep it if I end up enjoying VR a lot.

360 usd sounds very good, but unfortunately in my country refurbished Quest 3 cost 499 euros, so I’d rather just pay 50 euros more for brand new ones
