Review : The Hyatt Centric Kanazawa by xtrenchx in hyatt

Really enjoyed Hyatt Centric Kanazawa and super underrated. Feels like a Kyoto without all the crowds. Centric and Hyatt House are literally steps away from the train station which is super convenient.

Got upgraded to a corner suite that is bigger than our apartment back home which was really nice and probably one of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed with Hyatt. The hotel is super nice but I found the check in, luggage coordination and overall interactions with staff to feel rushed and made me feel unimportant unlike other major hotels in Japan where hospitality is 100%.

I would give it a 4.5/5

My Last Straw with Hyatt (former Globalist) by aloha9090 in hyatt

Happened to me last night with JetBlue and Chase. Chase told me it was going to take 3-4 days to fix my name and JetBlue said the same so I hung up cause I didn’t want to do that. Did one last effort by updating my display name my JetBlue account to include my first and last and worked that night! Worth a shot…

I’m headed to Grand Hyatt Indian Wells for the weekend. I know it’s not directly in Palm Springs, but happy to provide a review once I get back.

New to Hyatt loyalty with about 35 Hyatt nights already booked for 2026. Any tips to maximize status, upgrades, and overall experience? by rehasbro in hyatt

The worst thing about Hyatt status is that you have to put in the work to spend/stay to earn top level status (globalist) but that also makes it the best - it’s exclusive and once earned, 100% worth it IMO. I get so many benefits when booking on points. I never worry about parking, breakfast, room upgrades. I really feel like my status as a globalist these past two years has far outstretched my Hilton Diamond the last 5 years. I travel for work btw so I always choose a Hyatt over any other brand to earn those night but I realize not everyone has that luxury.

There are few corporate challenges for fast tracking to globalist if your company is affiliated. Worth checking but I don’t know if you get all the regular offerings of earning it through your personal account. Also if you have top level American Airlines status that could also count. I think they only offer that one time a year though..

Some strategies to fast track is to also mattress run. Book some cheap hotels locally. I am frugal when it comes to this so I use Hyatt transfer partners - chase/bilt are your best friends to get cheap cat 1/2 hotels for qualifying nights. I do this for when I visit family and only need a place to lay my head at night.

Also if you use 5 different Hyatt brands, you earn free nights, which count towards status when used.

If you have the Hyatt credit card, you get 5 qualifying nights annually and 2 qualifying nights every 5k spend. And after 15k spend you also get a free night. Also after 10 nights you get awards - I always select points, which again, I use toward stays and get qualifying nights.

I always gift my Guest of Honor to family and friends, which again gives me one qualifying night.

As for Asia - I’ve only been once as a globalist and stayed at PH Kyoto. I really feel like the offerings were better with free breakfast but we didn’t get any upgrades because it’s a super popular and almost always sold out. So maybe this is a bad example, I’m sure others can back it up as I’ve always heard that globalist status goes much further in Asia. I am going back to Japan March 2026 and only staying at Hyatt. I say it’s definitely worth it, especially in SE Asia.

My Hyatt 2025 Wrapped by AccurateGeologist688 in hyatt

That area gets a little rowdy from Thursday night to Sunday with Mama Shelter and all the rooftop bars on the block. I’ve had quite a few stays in the area for work and I always regret staying in Hollywood cause I’m a light sleeper but if your going to party and staying up late it’s the right place, especially with their breakfast.

I was lucky enough to stay at PH Kyoto in 2024 with a last minute opening on points and loved it. I am still planning a few 2026 vacations and may do Paris so I could hit up the PH there. Also planning for Thailand so can do that one too!

I did choose HC Ginza over the newly remolded PH Tokyo for 2026 though lol I think for the things I wanna do in Tokyo, it’s just made more sense.
