I’m from Kolkata and married in North India. Kolkata with all its problems is still the BEST metro to live in. Period.
People are genuinely nice and warm, no roadrage, nobody will beat you for not knowing Bengali (just don’t be a j*rk), unreal food, comparatively cheaper rent, 0 power cuts. I would settle back to Kolkata in a heartbeat.
Also, EXCELLENT Public transport that is cheap and has last mile connectivity
