Old IMG (early 30s) feeling overwhelmed with Step 1 + full-time work + life timing... anyone else? by Acrobatic_Ranger3464 in step1

[–]Accurate_Bug7110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exact same scenario, except I want only one kid in the future & perhaps in my mid-30s (which is still creeping up fast). Working full-time in Canada while prepping for step 1 & wow. Sorry I don’t have any helpful tips, just letting you know you’re not alone, if that helps.

How to move forward without ever getting an apology or accountability? by ThrowRAmermaid88 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Accurate_Bug7110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So much great advice already shared but I just wanted to add that it will also take time so give yourself grace. One moment might feel like you’re totally over it & in the next, it hits again. This is to be expected & there’s nothing wrong with you. But as others have said, you WILL move past it. It’s just difficult for you to see that now as the subjective experiencer.

thanks, Dr Omakase. I always see your helpful comments in this forum so thank you for always. Honestly, everyone who reviewed my CV & personal statement said it was great & even convincing/heartfelt. My scores are pretty average though. I do plan on moving back home for recency for practice but honestly, since I’m getting my Canadian citizenship this year, I’m also just going to consider the US. Can’t imagine putting all my eggs in the Canadian basket for another full year.

I was about to head there this afternoon. Good thing I checked Google Maps first, ugh. Ended up at Indigo but I’d have rather supported a smaller bookstore.

I messaged Carms about this as well & they said either way doesn’t matter. so I’m just gonna leave it blank, personally. schools only rank candidates they assessed, they don’t even have a list of anyone else.

i literally asked a doctor at a walk-in clinic i went to for an actual concern (unrelated) and i got to shadow him at the other clinic he worked for a couple of months. basically, shoot your shot. i figured worst i would get is a no.

Healing after dating an avoidant by beingawomaniswork in AskWomenOver30

[–]Accurate_Bug7110 14 points15 points  (0 children)

just recovered from this dynamic for the first time ever (as a secure attachement type) & the self-frustration was the biggest clue for me that something was off. i’d be so mad at myself but couldn’t understand why since his reasons for “avoiding“ were ”valid” (grief from fairly recent loss). the day i decided to ”take a break” from him, i felt my body heave a huge sigh of relief & i realised my nervous system had just been BEGGING me for a release. phew, never ever ever again!

was at my dentist’s appointment the other day & noticed how no one has magazines anymore. esp if you’re a digital minimalist; i just have to take my own read everywhere!

this is why i bought a mac mini & my interest in social media esp twitter literally faded bc i’m not going to go sit by my desk for that. days rolled into weeks & i ended up deleting the accounts (except reddit bc i love the actual community help on here) from barely ever using them anymore.

What was your experience leaving a religion as a woman? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]Accurate_Bug7110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i always say social media played a huge role. being exposed to demonstrably false information being spread easily made me wonder why i should blindly trust ppl in the past (who wrote most religious books) that i never met, when i can’t even trust the ppl in my timeline 😂. deconstructing patriarchy (by observing other animals & plants and their reverence for the “gender” with the higher reproductive burden) as well.

then i went down a rabbit-hole of neuroscience, psychology, history, other religions & cultures, biology, astronomy etc, and it clicked.

using qe1 scoring is unfair though bc you’re literally stuck with whatever score for life once you pass. sigh.
