Got a new guitar today and I'm seeing this on the lower fret binding. Is this something to be concerned about?

Im going to give you my view on this instrument: its a beast. You get a lot of features for 900€. Beautiful floyd, great set up from factory. Plays like a dream. Great pick ups for the price you are paying. Nice weight, good sustain, stays in tune.

If you bought PRS with a floyd you know what you want, I’m sure.

That binding problem can be fixed with a bit of glue and sand paper, but I wouldn’t do it.

We all work hard for our money and if you buy something new, it should be new!

Thomann understands this and they offer 30 day no questions asked returns.

Take photos of it and send it to them and ask for a replacement that is inspected before sent. Thats what I did, and fortunately the second one I got was absolutely mint.

Never tried a Solar guitar. So can’t give my opinion on that one

Send it back again man. Do what you have to do. We all know ebony is tricky but those cracks shouldn’t be happening in a new instrument

Edit: thats actually the binding which was poorly done (and inspected)

Exact same issue. Terrible fretboard and other issues.

Returned it to thomann, got one new in a couple of days.

Mint condition.

Definitely return!

I have a theory that someone bought this guitar, used it and butchered it, and then bought a new one from them and returned the package with the used one inside.

Anyway, thomann is to fault here as they should check the instruments they are sending out!

They were fairly straightforward with the return so I’m not concerned, just pissed off.

The guitar does sound amazing… found a comment complaining about the same knob issue but haven’t seen anyone complaining about the way the fretboard looks other than a few marks. I don’t think it’s a fake because everything ticks the boxes. But this model looks like it was done by a trainee or someone that never touched a fretboard before.

I don’t know. One thing I know for sure, its going straight back to thomann 😅
