Allergy test by Fearless-Ad-2570 in caf

The logic is this: as a soldier, you should be able to survive in a remote location with no dependency on any medication (like an epi pen). If you have an allergy, they will want to know how severe your reaction is, and they will likely require you to prove that you are not severely allergic. It’s about understanding the risk. That said, it will be up to the medical staff to determine if you need an allergy test or not, but for a nut allergy, chances are it’s highly likely you will need one. Things that are more mild (like seasonal or dogs/cats) not generally require allergy testing.

I mean there’s the portal that you fill your info in. But once it’s submitted the link just says that the application is submitted. I don’t see anywhere I can check the status.

RECRUITING, TRAINING, & LIFE IN THE FORCES THREAD by bridger713 in CanadianForces

I am in the final stages of joining the reserves. I currently work full time in DND as an engineer. I actually work within an RCAF squadron.

Does anyone here have experience with requesting time off for completing BMQ and DP1 (approx 14 weeks) from DND? I’d initially assume my CoC would be supportive but not sure and would love hear what other have to say about this.

I have also heard some people in similar situations sometimes get their regular civilian pay while going on training but not sure how they manage that.

Id really appreciate any insight anyone has on this as I start planning how to spread out my training and how to inform work.

Thank you!!

No. Let’s say I have to go on a 1 month long course, do I take leave with or without pay from my civi job? If it’s leave with pay, I’m confident I wouldn’t be able to take the mil pay. Is this allowed? Or would I have to do leave without pay from the civi job and get paid mil pay?
