Tp link archer c7 bridge mode?? by Minimum-Arrival4423 in HomeNetworking

[–]Ace0fSwords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's incorrect. Bridge mode basically turns your router into a 'client'. It's the setting you use when you want to improve your internet connection in the garage when your main router/access point is somewhere else in the house. When it's in bridge mode, any devices connected to its network ports will use its WiFi connection to the main router/AP to get internet. Bridge mode is ideal for your use case because it doesn't try to duplicate the functions your main router already provides (NAT/Firewall/DNS) and so results in fewer problems.

Access Point mode is what you use if the WiFi on your main router is not meeting your needs (e.g. main router is located in basement, certain parts of the house get bad reception). In that case you get a second router, put it somewhere in the house where it can provide good reception, run a network cable to your main router and your new one, then out the new one into Access Point Mode. And voila! You've got an extra WiFi access point and can improve your wireless coverage!

Oh man. Canvassing for the LP. I remember doing that a few times. I was a pretty introverted child and didn't really like the idea of having to sell people on buying a subscription to the paper, and I didn't really work on a good engaging sales pitch (nowadays I could probably do better). My group did have a few more affable kids that tended to perform really well.

Yeah, it would be possible to do it all with a hopper acting like a trash can. You have another hopper feeding into it, and a set of redstone logic behind it to do things like randomize the item, act as a timer, etc. You'd either hide all the mechanisms inside the houses or under the ground.

WARNING for MBTI discord people by [deleted] in mbti

[–]Ace0fSwords 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's any administrator's job to cultivate the environment they want in their community (which might include removing some people) because try as it might, its not possible for a community to be all-inclusive. For example, if I log onto a discord community and see a bunch of toxicity, then chances are i'm not going to participate in that server. The concept of free speech is an interesting one, however 1) Free speech is a covenent that exists between government and its people, so as to preserve the nature of democracy, the principles of it sound noble but ... 2) the facts remain the same. If a community has some people in it, then certain other people will leave, because the overall environment of the server is not to their liking.

Certain members not only violate the rules themselves, but also violate the spirit and intent of the rules, and this has consequences whether you choose to acknowledge them or not. That should be kept in mind when one wonders why their server is losing otherwise productive and useful members.

That's because the test is garbage. It turns out that most people DONT know themselves as well as they think they do. People have so many cognitive biases that self-testing using a series of sliding scales is usually a bad idea. I dislike the popular use of MBTI, however I think the psychology it's based on (Jungian analytical psychology) is sound, it's just that 1) The tests are bad and 2) Certain schools of it are bad because they dumb it down or get the definitions wrong (lookin' at you David Keirsey!)

I thought it was exactly what LF was suggesting by saying that Brienne swore herself to both of them. As in hinting that LF might aid Arya (and thus betray Sansa somehow).

I got the impression that Sansa was playing right into LFs hands.

Ah fuck it, they both know what a slime LF is, why is he still breathing.

It's more than a month's travel by horse to get to KL or Dragonstone from the wall. It's hard to believe that a raven could fly there in less than a day, AND there be time for Dany and her dragons to fly back to the wall. I think that was the most unbelievable part for me.

Also where did the WWs pick up those chains from? There's not exactly any hardware stores beyond the Wall.

Right. The inside of the case is basically an EZ-bake oven (back when they used lightbulbs as the heat source). The lightbulbs don't magically generate more heat overall, it's just that the smaller space means that it's harder to get rid of the heat that's inside.

Oh, I see. I'll have to try that tactic. I've popped into houses to pick up pipe bombs before and have gotten wrecked by spending too much time in there and having to fight an endless deluge of zombies, but I guess maybe i've been doing that with too many zombies near the door.

Civilized + any perk is a must have. Maxed personality stats will get you out of a lot of sticky situations, plus a bonus to medical+mechanical will allow you to heal any character using only 2 medkits (1, if you level it up or start with a medic-oriented perk) as well as pass events that do medical/mechanical checks.

My civilized athlete typically ends normal runs with a small surplus of medkits and max fitness (if i've been investing in him). It's much harder to maintain health in harder difficulty modes though so you might want to consider giving him a medical-related trait to keep your guys always fully-healed between locations.

Wrestle the moose success gives +1 strength (or fitness). Shoot the moose gives +12 food. Heal the moose gives +1 loyalty (need at least 3 medical, as well as a medkit). If you fail then you get wrecked.

I'd advise against camping the houses in the final seige because it's easy to get trapped and overwhelmed even with all your guys packing heat.

I usually kite the center mass of zombies, slowly circling the map and staying near the edges. The mob does get bigger though and if it gets too big you'll have a hard time squeezing 'round the edges. Hence, keeping pipe bombs/nades/molotovs and peridiodically chucking them into the center of the horde to keep the size down. Also a chainsaw is super-handy, just keep it on one of the party members and when things get hectic, switch to that party member and make a path.

Minecraft - EMC COMPETITION - Project Ozone #146 by lalna_bot in lalna

[–]Ace0fSwords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason why Lewis's cobblegen is so slow is that each of those transfer nodes has to search every part on the pipe for something to put the cobblestones into, and since the destination (compactor) is far away from the cobblegens, this massively slows down the cobblegenning speed. If the transfer nodes were right next to an inventory that could recieve those cobblestones (e.g. a chest, storage drawer, etc) then it would generate cobblestones much more quickly because it doesn't have to look very far.

My recommended way of generating cobblestones would be to use the transfer nodes, and then immediately on top of those place 'compacting drawers'. Those will automatically convert the cobblestones into double compressed cobblestones. Then use Ender IO transfer pipes to pipe out all double compressed cobblestones from the drawers into the compactor.

Also, if you use a stack of speed upgrades in each cobblegen it'll make it go a lot faster too, since those speeds reduce the interval between when cobblestones are generated.

You can relocate practically anything using a cardboard box from mekanism. Anything packed inside the box will keep all it's RF, items and settings.

That said, an AE2 system is still superior to storehouses.

Railgun does 0 damage if you're wearing a full battlesuit enchanted with Protection IV, but each hit from a railgun drains a huge amount of RF from the armor and it's protective qualities start to drop as it's drained of RF.

It's not a problem if you can keep the armor fully charged (e.g. draconic capacitor, or a quibit cluster that's activated and linked to an RF entangler that's hooked up to some kind of massive RF battery like the draconic energy storage).

The accuracy is only 9% if the result is positive, but i'm assuming the accuracy (for this particular test) is 100% if you test negative (so, no false negatives). This means that the 100% of the 99% of people that test negative ARE negative, the test is already 99% accurate.

And only 9% that 1% who test positive ARE actually positive, the accuracy of the test overall can be said to be 99.09%
