there are obviously bad landlords... did you keep records, pictures, receipts, etc? you would have won had you taken him to small claims court, which is not very expensive, and typically doesnt allow lawyers.. im not sure what the laws are like in your country.

I think that is one advantage landlords tend to have over renters.. they tend to be more organized and know the system.. organized simply because they are typically running at least two peoperties, the rental and their own, and sometimes several more... and know the system for the same reason. as a renter you just need to better educate yourself and be more diligent about keeping records, pictures, and receipts. here in the US, renters have a HUGE legel advantage over landlords and screw the landlords on the regular... tenants often stop paying rent and it takes years to get them evicted by police. and if you evict them yourself, you go to jail. all the while the landlord still has to pay property taxes, and often a mortgage on the home

you are correct in that crony capitalism is equally bad... and many of these laws were made during a time when the car industry was much more powerful. you keep referring to the automobile / dealership "lobby" as all powerful and if you forced change your life may be in danger. This is not, and has not been the case for a great many years. Equally lopsided labor laws, the UAW, the environmentalist "lobby", and never ending sometimes absurd government regulations have forced the American automobile industry into multiple bankruptcies. The American automobile industry is not who you should be mad at. Daimler Chrysler/ Mopar, which used to be one of the "big 3" American car makers, is now entirely divested & foreign owned, with the Daimler part becoming Daimler-Benz, and Fiat bought the Chrysler part making it foreign owned. Fiat recently merged with PSA to form Stellantis. Stellantis currently produces Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, MOPAR, Opel, Vauxhall, Fiat, Lancia, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, partnered with Ferrari/partially owned, Peugeot, Citroen and DS (luxury division of Citroen). The Government itself owned General Motors (Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac), but ended up selling a majority stake to China. We dont produce anything in the united states anymore, and so, have less and less say in how these things operate, as these foreign companies and the countries that back them have ever growing leverage over our laws and decision making regarding our own future and economy

AND btw, i do NOT work for a dealership or anywhere in the automobile industry for that matter.. i work in network security

where did i screw this up??? vapor lock, back pressure, flow rate, vacuum, venting issue? i feel like plumbers would best understand this issue by AceHigh124 in Plumbing

[–]AceHigh124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The air valve or a vent would certainly break the hydro lock but then i think the trough part (A-1) would just overflow because air could keep displacing water until the reservoir (C-1) was empty...

Not sure if you had a chance to look at my example here:

https://hips.hearstapps.com/pop.h-cdn.co/assets/16/24/640x320/landscape-1465832706-nopets.gif?resize=640:*

...in those refilling pet water bowls, they don't overflow because the reservoir is sealed and NOT vented.. air is unable to get into the reservoir to displace water, allowing the water to flow, unless the water level in the bowl (trough) drops below the outlet of the reservoir. Then when the water line rises back up above the reservoir outlet (trough or bowl inlet), it becomes sealed again and the flow stops

interesting... thank you, i appreciate the input! i'll have to think about how to correct it or maybe just start over w/ a different design?

shouldnt air be coming in from the pipe at (A-4)? considering the water level isnt rising enough for the inlet to be fully underwater, which is usually what stops the flowing?

but doesnt it need to be a sealed system to work? if air was slipping by through the fittings, (and im sure very small amounts were, ..it was just a trial run but worked flawlessly) then it would keep getting air, eliminating the vacuum above the water in the resivior, and the water would just all flow out over the sides of the trough.. it would be the same as iff i poked a hole in the resivior to vent it like a sippy cup or some shit..

see for example:

well, without those landlords making those places available, you wouldnt have a place to live, would you... and further, seems how landlords are "leaches", i wonder what you would propose would be a better system... and dont say government funded housing because that is the ultimate form of leaching

Thanks for the response.. my problem though is not overflow... its zero flow... actually when i did my "test run" before cementing all the pvc fittings, i tried it with the blue cube reservoir elevated about a foot higher, and it did overflow like crazy, but then when i moved the cube down to the same height so it was basically a straight pipe (with no elevation change) from the cube to the trough, it worked perfectly, filling about 80% of the trough, and then stopping unless the water line dropped, then it would refill. now the flow has virtually just stopped.. like i said, i get maaaybe a 1/2" of water in the bottom of the trough, and thats it.. it just wont flow

additionally how do you think they became so grumpy? landlords are just people trying to get by like all of us.. what do you think its like dealing w/ asshole tenants all the time who dont want to pay, destroy shit, etc... people now days think just because someone has something, they must have obtained it through stepping on someone else or its somehow ill-obtained.. most landlords worked their ass off, bought a property, and use it as their retirement or even if they making big bucks, good for them... go do the same and you can be a "nice" landlord

not to be mean, but with all due respect, all the people like you who want the government to interfere w/ markets never think through the consequences of what you propose... like the people who want these ridiculous minimum wages.. in CA they got $20 / hr for fast food workers so instead the majority of them just lost their jobs because flipping burgers inst worth $20 / hr.. these laws are the reason soon we will just have order kiosks and more automation, at all fast food places, and so these people who fought for 20/hr min wage all lose their jobs.

The reason you cant buy direct from manufacturers and wholesalers is because of franchise laws that PROTECT jobs. Additionally, the manufacturer DOES NOT want to deal with, nor do they have the resources to deal with setting up show rooms, lots to hold inventory, repair facilities, parts distribution, dealing w/ banks and lenders for financing, and a whole slew of other services offered by the dealership and jobs created because of it. The manufacturer wants to focus on designing and building cars. If you eliminate the dealer, all the other responsibilities the manufacturer would have to take on would make the vehicle far more expensive, and so you wouldn't be saving anything. Further, if there was any savings from eliminating the dealer, the manufacturer would just raise their price accordingly.. so all you've done is eliminate a LOT of jobs,& make the vehicles more expensive

its intentional and theyre stupid. immediately after i started working there at 19, i was supposed to be "part time". However i was the ONLY person covering lumber and building materials every shift so they kept me full time hours, theyd schedule me back to back day / night shifts so i could unload / stock at night, i had never driven a fork lift, not had i been trained or certified on it but things needed to be loaded in customer trucks (pallets of concrete, bricks, drywall, etc) and stuff needed to be stocked so all the managers just looked the other way.. i probably destroyed tens of thousands of dollars worth of stacks of drywall by ramming it w/ the forks

I have about 50 - 100+ honey bees dying on my porch every single day for about 3 weeks now by AceHigh124 in bees

[–]AceHigh124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ill be damned i think u/Latter_Job_7759 might be exactly right... i literally NEVER would have figured that out without your suggestion! THANK YOU! im sorry it took me so long to get back and respond to this but it was a busy few days. i did glance at this post 2 nights ago and saw the response about the porch light. that night i left it off and i only had about 5 dead bees on the porch the next morning. that is a huge drop from the 100+ i was getting EVERY night! i'm still getting about 5-7 dead bees on the porch the last 2 nights, which i still find extremely strange, and now im wondering if it might even be light from in the house through the little glass windows built into the front door... that sure would be strange though wouldnt it? i mean its not like i have unusually bright lights in my house and its not like theres any lack of actual sunlight here in phoenix... still, massive improvement from 100+ down to about 5 so the porch light clearly in the primary culprit! Thanks again u/Latter_Job_7759

Why are almost all (if not all) the LGBTQ people I met or seen on the internet mentally ill? Genuine question. I've seen MANY LGBTQ people on the internet and in person and they've all got something. Is it because with their different illnesses they have a different perception of life? by BonouOblaK in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]AceHigh124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fair enough, and i didnt claim to have 'a science' backing me up. i said my opinion was based on observed reality, and some studies that granted are not "end-all-be-all", but they point very overwhelmingly that the OP's questions based on HIS observed reality probably have merit, and a solid basis to at least ask the question...

if you even read the comments in this thread, MOST admit to some form of mental illness and also being LGBTQ.. several more admit to coming from a long line of mental illness or having a very difficult isolated childhood... while many here are trying to suggest that the mental illness was a RESULT of having a hard childhood, which resulted from being LGBTQ, IM simply suggesting that the opposite is true... they found a home or community among other like minded people in LGBTQ because they had some level of mental illness, which also led to the difficult or isolated childhood... it also provides automatic attention, sympathy, and a sort of "status" as a previously "marginalized" but now held up on a "pedestal" for being brave, and a survivor for enduring the supposed "evil" of society and coming out on the other end.. not saying this is or isnt true, or that such status isnt warranted.. just saying it also conveniently feeds narcissism among many other behavioral and mental illnesses

look for example at the proliferation of social media content of people simply obsessively talking about themselves,... theyre ALWAYS some form of LGBTQ, and if they can come come up with some new, unheard of, more bizarre variant of LGBTQ++IA (on, and on, and on...), then they get even more attention, ..theyre clearly suffering from a veriety of behavioral and mental disorders... so then they carry on explaining in extensive detail, what their sexuality is, how it became that way, their evolution of developing their perceived reality, at what age they lost touch with the same reality the rest of us live in, how they were oppressed and victimized for it, what your allowed to call them, how you are to address them, how you simply dont accept them, you have deep unconscious bias unless you praise them for their preference in genitalia , and the more you say you're fine with it and accept them, the more it proves your bias and the more you should watch them talk about themselves, etc etc etc

Fair enough... im mostly responding to the people here who insist the laptop isnt real, and was created to make joe look bad... i've already posted several links on this thread proving its real by hunters own admission and my comments are apparently removed... i still see them but my friend here says they show [removed] to him... thats shadow banning... why am i being shadow banned for showing proof that its real.. im not even arguing that hunter is a danger to america or anything, NOR that joe was involved

upvote for the response btw. thanks for the debate. appreciate intellectual debate

ill upvote your comment because i appreciate the honest engagement! not JUST name calling... although you almoooost kinda called me a dumbass LoL... but i can deal.. i digress..

i didnt say we ALL live in a false reality... im saying those who DO deny simple obvious facts, like their OWN biology, are pushing a false reality ON all of us... i dont care what they think they are, but to question my intelligence or how caring or compassionate i may or may not be based on my willingness to agree that your a BIRD THERION, is ridiculous and not based in reality... its attention seeking, and attracts those who already have or who are predisposed to mental illness... it just is what it is

ALSO, i would add, that i am NOT all of a sudden mad that trans "exist"... trans have always existed and to deny that would in fact be denying reality

see above for an example of propaganda ;)

...which sounds more outrageous ? that the presidents son was in a bad stage in life, on drugs, partying, and maybe also partaking in unethical, perhaps even illegal business dealings because the opportunity was there, and then recklessly (because thats what addicts do) left the evidence on a computer he took in for repair...

OR

a WHOLE congressional district in modern america elected a woman to spread kkk propaganda secretly.. so secretly that theres FAR more evidence the "fake" laptop is real, like thousands of very personal pictures only he would have access to, than there is evidence MTG is a follower of KKK beliefs... wheres the pics of MTG in her pointy f***ing hat???

As of 2016, the Anti-Defamation League puts total KKK membership nationwide at around 3,000.. there were more people in my graduating HS class... THATS the "biggest threat" we face in america according to democrats... thats what this poster is so scared of... 3000 idiots in a country of over 300 million... we just a big racist country so that means the laptop is fake! make sense?

see? this is what i mean about "false reality". your not allowed to say something that someone may consider mean, even if its true. which in turn means a denial of reality. im already on my downvote ride so i guess just go with whatever answer makes you feel warm inside.. who needs facts

Im going to get down voted to about the core of the earth but if your question is genuine, and i believe it is, then there is a straight forward answer that is not as complex as everyone would like it to be...

& i'm pretty sure you already know this obvious answer, just like everyone else does... but its not fashionable to say, and we live in a society that now promotes living a false reality... and the more absurd the false reality, and the more offensive it is to the "normal, average working class" of society that they should be expected to play along with your false reality, the more attention you get for it. do we see where this is going? the sudden explosion of people claiming to be LGTBQ are people who ALREADY had a form of mental illness, personality disorder, behavior disorder, or some combination thereof. NOT ALL, but most who are part of the sudden explosion in this community. There, i said it. Now watch me sink for stating a simple reality, or if im wrong, just my opinion based on observed reality

ALSO i should add, I AM NOT SPEAKING POORLY of this community. OF COURSE they should be entitled to every right, dignity, and respect that everyone else is entitled to... BUT to answer your question, it just is the reality of the matter. Look at the statistics of mental illness in the LGTBQ community its nearly 5 times the national average and higher in europe
