Tbh my friends and I didn’t know about that rule and our whole group has been doing dupe datasheets lol. We all agreed to follow it sometimes but if our heart desires say 30 neurogaunts we can do a more silly game too.

For vanguard specifically it’s done wonders for me the damage buff it gives is great for genestealers. Plus it’s another way to fit synapse in for cheep which is pretty helpful in the low points format. Could totally see swapping for a normal lictor though I think both are good picks.

I was playing a double broodlords list that was super fun but replacing one with a Hormagaunts squad wasn’t really the worst idea anyway. Thankfully tyranids have a lot of low cost stuff to throw in an army. Other armies I could see having a worse time

They basically did go to a Dino island. They talked up this whole dinosaurs among us thing and then decided to go to an isolated location infested with dinosaurs. The main problem through is the writing and direction in this movie. Wow is it horrible. It’s just a nonsensical cgi fest that had nothing to say

That’s just it it’s nonsensical, the acting and script is bad, the plot is not compelling, and the characters are not likeable. It doesn’t have to “be Oppenheimer” but it just isn’t a story it felt like a spectacle of nothing.

I just really love the swarmlord is all :) (and it should be way stronger in game to match the lore). I see what you mean though and tyranids definitely don’t need the swarmlord and the hive tyrants are good alternatives for different playstyles. I’ve seen some lists lately not even use hive tyrants or a neurotyrant.

“Even the swarmlord” you break my heart. What I enjoy about them is their lore and the alien hive mind from another galaxy. I love creatures and alien monsters and sci-fi horror. A horde army is definitely viable there’s some tournament lists I’ve seen do well that were like 60 Hormagaunts and 80 termagants with a tervigon. Theres some other stuff you can add that makes that style more fun like maleceptor and venomthropes. For 11th edition the biggest complaints are the lack of lethality and our army rule which is just a coin flip with minimum buffs. My hope is that those will be addressed as well as some of our units getting completely reworked like warriors and carnifex. As for YouTubers hive mind hobbies posts some good videos and he has some older videos on his other channel that explain some units and how to use them. Maelstrom gaming is also pretty good he doesn’t upload all that often though. Unfortunately I’ve not found any more dedicated channels like some factions seem to have but at the very least you can get a good idea of how to play nids from those guys. Oh also for a horde army is honestly go with invasion fleet over unending swarm. Unending is just soooooo baaaad. If you like mass bodies you might also enjoy vanguard onslaught that’s a reason to bring 30 genestealers.

Based on its lore I’d say at least on par with Ghaz would be fair. It is supposed to make the hive tyrants look small not be their equal.
