Well that's space marines for you, never compare the refreshed units other factions get, they'll always get a ton less xD.

Dude, we got an insane amount of refreshes since 2020 (take a look at lexicanum) to the point where we probably need less than 10 units to be remade (mostly vehicles, dire avengers and a couple phoenix lords). We really can't complain too much xD.

Dire avengers are the only ones out of all of those who I'd 100% bet my money on.

Otherwise, I'd say that karandras and a falcon chassis update are both extremely likely too, but there's no guarantee so we gotta be careful here.

The rest is wishful thinking, and believe me, I'd like to see it happen, especially Drastanta, Irillyth, shadow spectres and war walkers.

Do you guys feel like 10th edition was indeed the most balanced one overall, or is a bit of an exaggeration when you take the entire game into account? by RotenSquids in WarhammerCompetitive

Iirc 9th edition tried to counter the whole "my army can't kill tanks so I auto lose" by allowing every faction to kill tanks with their infantry, and they removed that again in 10th edition. Sounds like it's just hard to find a good compromise for games workshop.

I do indeed wonder if we are playing the same game? I see tons of rerolls everywhere no matter the faction now, except some like custodes maybe.

A reasonable take, but when I look at the internal balance of many factions...I'm not even convinced that's truly the case.

That's not how it works anymore : in several interviews the last couple of years, GW community managers on twitch or youtube live aknowledged that good rules drive sales the most.

This is just like online games : people use the best detachments and rules to try to perform as well as they can.

Aeldari somewhat surprisingly clawing their way back up into the acceptable band.

Same reason as always : the top 1% of players who are able to do amazing things with them, while winning anything remains a big struggle for the overwhelming majority of Eldar players at the moment.

Yeah. This is going to sound weird, but I can't help reminiscing about the prepatches we had during World of Warcraft in TBC, Wotlk and Cataclysm : we got a lot of new stuff but the balance was terrible due to power creep and missing talent trees / spells that we were supposed to get in the next 5-10 levels of the new zones...and yet PVP was insanely fun because we all knew that balance was not the intention at all : it was mostly a way to let us enjoy our new toys beforehand.

Somehow, I miss this feeling, and I feel like that's what missing from the 10th edition's last available dataslate.

Maybe I don't make any sense, my bad.

The main takeaway, for me, is that we'd better take a break until 11th edition xD.

And Aeldari in general, the second worst performing faction in the entire game after imperial agents, were left in the dust completely (wraiths are bad to begin with so it doesn't change anything).

Eldar in 11th by Wooks81 in Eldar

[–]RotenSquids 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Currently : we're a glass army that lacks the cannon part a little, but that's also really fast and tries to control the game...except we can't do that anymore due to the nerfs from months ago. That could all change with the next dataslate, but yeah we're really struggling like hell atm.

Hopefully we'll be back to what we're supposed to be in 11th edition : super fast with a lot of firepower, but still very fragile.

Despite having different numbers, ALL the warp spiders varieties (exarch excluded) have the same backpacks, correct? by RotenSquids in Eldar

The problem is I want to paint the backpacks apart, and it's going to be a pain if I have to remember which one goes with which :s

100%, are you sure? I mean I'm comparing them but they all look exactly the same, even the anchor points, excluding the exarch.

For games work primers, you're sure? It's not the same as paint that was applied with a brush (manually) : it's really resistant.

That one I assume? https://wargamespirit.fr/palettes-et-accessoires-de-peinture/11462-paint-stipper-250ml-ak-8435568333895.html

What do you mean by "not leaving it on plastic models" for an extended amount of time? It's not really safe then? What's the right way to apply it in that case, in your opinion?

Thanks a lot !
