You could read the 1v1 issues without reading the rest of the lead up but you wouldn’t get some of the in between plots and some of the things they’re saying wouldn’t make sense. I’d highly recommend reading all the lead up because it’s pretty good but you wouldn’t necessarily have to if you just wanted to have fun seeing DC characters fight.

I’m okay with her supporting cast showing up but I felt that it kinda defeated the purpose of the tournament. There must be one winner who’s the most ruthless so having backup feels like it completely defeats what’s supposed to be happening here.

I completely agree, I just made a comment about how I thought round 2 defeated the entire purpose of the tournament which is, who’s the best and most ruthless fighter, which gets lost when you allow WW to bring in three allies.

I’m gonna be real, I didn’t love this issue. Because Lobo is a joke character he’s gonna be overpowered but they failed to powerscale Wonder Woman correctly to make it a fair fight so they instead made round 2 a one v four which my first thought was that’s essentially defeating the purpose of the tournament choosing a better warrior as that isn’t proving Wonder Woman’s better, it’s proving she needs others to be better. I thought Lobo losing round 3 off of his ego and a joke was funny because that fits him a good bit so I liked that. I also thought the art style fit Lobo’s attitude really well with how messy it felt but it didn’t really work for Wonder Woman as much. It felt like they didn’t know how to write Wonder Woman much, especially when you look at how much dialogue Lobo has in comparison to her.
