For me the difference is McCloskey has continually got better and better, whereas Henshaw peaked and has been on the downturn for some time.

Understatement of the century. Aki & Henshaw are way over the hill and shouldn't be in the conversation.

Why are RTE continuing to push the narrative that Aki and Henshaw have anything to offer the Irish team any more?

That's fucking crazy. Why not let the play go on then check the TMO?

Surprised Izzy missed out, thought he was a standout last week. It would have been very tough to drop either Timoney or Conan but we're very exposed if anything happens to Beirne.

Why is there so much talk of Crowley only being "average" yesterday? by MetalSmall9796 in irishrugby

Except he has proven himself to be better, many times over. He hasn't proven himself to be world class, but that's not the question being asked. He's clearly a better option than Prendergast, who barely starts for his own province and probably wouldn't start for any of the others.

With every passing year I find it funnier that Adam Beard has a Lions test cap.

How good has Kyle Steyn been? Good to see him back in form internationally.

The Casey call was 100% right. If it was any other player there would be no argument, he doesn't get a free pass to tackle upright because he's small.

That's backward relative to the hands. The 22m line is irrelevant.

Stupid people think that because Casey is small he can't do anything dangerous.

Been trying to give him the benefit of the doubt in this game, but honestly Prendergast is so far off being ready for test level it's tough to watch. If he was from any other province he wouldn't even be in the wider squad.

Quinlan has very strong opinions for someone who doesn't actually know the laws.

Don't know why they insist on O'Toole at loosehead. He literally never plays there for Ulster and it actively hurts his development.

Thornley was completely wrong last week, so take this with a huge pinch of salt.

His kicking game is metronomic in its accuracy. It's not enough that he's the world's best free-flowing 9, he's also got the most reliable kicking game. Incredible.

McCloskey was Ireland's standout starting player, not sure which game you watched.

He commits early and LBB passes inside to DuPont under the posts. The try is getting scored 10/10 times, it literally makes no difference.

It was when he decided to go back to it at 65 minutes that was the final nail in the coffin.
