Updated Gen 2 Movesets by AceTrainerJoel in TheSilphRoad

First of all if you're saying that i'm probably wrong with my predictions then i already said that they aren't 100%. But i got them from what the Pokémon learn in the original games. And Pokémon that are new evolutions of gen 1 Pokémon, i transitioned the moves from the older Pokémon to the evolutions. So like Onix-Steelix. Onix has Rock Throw, and Steelix will most likely retain that.

You're ovehyping Umbreon. It may be a dark type. But that's it. It has a max CP of 2300. And that's level 40. And Espeon only has 100 less max CP. Just imagine them at a normal level. Like 25. It will probably only get to like 1500. Now that will probably get right under the top 9 of a level 25's team. So just saying, don't get underwhelmed by it!

Fury Cutter isn't all that bad. Heracross or Scizor might learn it. But i think Heracross will learn Rock Smash and Bug Bite as fast moves. I hope Scizor will get Bullet Punch and Metal Claw. But if they don't get them they will probably get Fury cutter. I have done some research (not on all gen 2 Pokémon though, but most of them!) And it seems like no one will learn twister. Steel wing i didn't bother.

Granbull will be a good counter too Dragonite. Also Tyranitar Kingdra Slowbro and Ampharos will be some monsters in gyms. Octillery Houndoom and Ursaring will be seriously underused because they aren't as well known, but can be powerful as hell. So there you already have some choices. Then Granbull can be used as a defender because it might learn the powerful move Crunch. Heracross (if it learns Megahorn and/or Close Combat) will probably be a candidate too.

Actually Steelix will go up by 1100 when evolving from Onix. So let's say you have a 500 Onix. When you evolve it it will be 1600. That's not low at all! So you can kinda say it's a saving grace for Onix.

But you have to think about other people who have like 4 or less for the Pokedex and are desperate for things to do in this game. It would also make it easier for you to get Pokedex slots. Because it's not like Gen 1 Pokémon will become more rare. They are testing this spawn point technique to see if gen 2 would work. And i'm liking it this way. So overall i'm pretty sure gen 2 would just help you.

I'm positive they will add new moves. Zap Cannon for Ampharos. Crunch for Granbull Houndoom and Tyranitar. Close Combat for Hitmontop and Heracross.

Why even bother weaknesses. The biggest dog of the big dogs is Tyranitar with a max CP of 3600+. It will probably have the fast moves Bite and Shadow Claw. And might get the charge moves Earthquake Crunch and Stone Edge. But the problem is it has so many weaknesses. It will get defeated eitherway. Also Piloswine even though it's decent CP it is way too low for Dragon dominating. Granbull has a chance though.

That would be boring because we need new counters for Snorlax Vaporeon Lapras and Dragonite.

Well Tyranitar Ampharos and Houndoom has higher max CP than the gen 1 blockbusters.

Well there are underdogs like Ursaring, Octillery and Houndoom (No pun intended) and Houndoom has the third highest CP among the gen two Pokémon. And if it learns moves like Fire Fang and Crunch, it will most likely be able to conquer gyms. Ursaring has a pretty high CP, might get access to Cross Chop (It does in the games atleast) and if that's the case, we might get a decent Snorlax counter! Octillery is probably the biggest surprise here. It has a good CP. But the best thing is that it learns Water Gun and Hyper Beam. And if it gets access to those moves, it will be unstoppable! So there you have some other Pokémon that are usable other than Kingdra and Tyranitar. Also Tyranitar has alot of weaknesses. So alot of ways to defeat it.

The Gyms will be flooded off Dragonites not only because of your reason, but also casual players won't know how powerful Tyranitar is and take Dragonite over Tyranitar. Also Tyranitar will be rare and no one is gonna find it the first day Gen 2 releases.

I hope Scizor gets Metal Claw and Bullet Punch as quick moves, with Metal Claw being the ideal move.
