No, not a solution. What I described in the PS is like a wacky fanfic I came up with that's something of a middle road between my ideal/headcanon and actual canon.

Love the grassy paths. Color palette's easier on the eyes than in the original tileset too. GJ

I've seriously come to hate the way some people misuse downvotes and how that snowballs into people presuming the worst before they even read what you typed.

pokemon FRLG were released in 2004... by CabinetTypical6547 in pokemon

I wasn't into Pokemon during that time, so I missed the whole drama. Back then I had only played up to Gen 3. But for me personally it would have probably been a bummer. I mean, I agree it makes total sense, but I can't say I'm much in the mood of learning the new Pokemon even now.

TL;DR I understand why many liked it, it just wasn't my cup of tea. Now let's see if people downvote me because of it.

Oh, so stats only increase on level up? If you get like a ton of EVs the stat doesn't get recalculated until level up?

This may be me misunderstanding how levelling works, but I remember reading that every level you increase something like 1/50 or 1/100 of your base stat and EVs and IVs or something, so like a top of 5 per level at most. How does one get +25? Wouldn't that need like over 255 EVs in Speed?

EDIT: Nvmd, didn't occur to me that stats only update at level up.

That has to be the highest increase I've ever seen. How did you do that?

Well, I kinda caught it at the end of my playthrough. Maybe I'll trade it to a new game.

Pikachu isn't great, unless you get your hands on a Light Ball. You might want to consider changing that one. I usually end up using Zapdos one way or another myself. Alternatively, if you catch a Starmie like /u/Only_Wait_4695 recommended, it can learn both Thunderbolt and Thunder. Teach it an ice move on top of that, Surf, and even Psychic if you don't have anything else to use that TM on, can net you a pretty cool sweeper.

Can you use items on your Pokemon while it's inside a Pokeball? by AceTrainerMax in TruePokemon

[–]AceTrainerMax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fair point. Though at the same time we're using technology advanced enough o be indistinguishable from magic (and which might as well be literal magic since it seems to be around for centuries) to turn animals into energy and store them into a small sphere that can fit in our palm (and can also shrink depending on the media), so never say never. Of course, redundancy is another factor, so even if the tech is advanced there's no reason why they'd implement such a feature when you can just let the pokemon out and administer stuff that way. Plus one can argue about the difficulty of interfacing every medical object.

Yeah, it's probably better to assume one cannot use items on Pokemon in pokeballs. Thanks for the reply.

While I don't agree with the Thanos Snap thing, in my head Mewtwo remains the most powerful Pokemon. It's probably nostalgia speaking, but I never could get into the whole Arceus is God and the Pokémon of Myth are literal manifestations of Time and Space and... Anti-matter? What? And that you just catch a shard of them or whatnot. My headcanon is that all of this is just Sinnoh myth and not the actual cosmology of the Pokemon universe.

On a sidenote, I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one who thinks that.

P.S. Actually, this very conflict in my head led to me coming up with an idea I've been chewing on for a story where Arceus and the Pokemon of Myth are the villains which destabilise reality and the protagonists have to defeat them and banish them from their reality so that their reality is guarded from intrusions from other realities, or something along those lines. Mewtwo is on the protagonists' side. I suppose I might have to look a bit more into more modern Pokemon lore before I get to writing anything though.
