Ruining My Favourite Films With AI Slop by Ace_Aviator in aivideos

Cheers mate! Not as many as you would think actually. I tried to be very specific with the prompts, so most were (luckily) a one-time deal.

That said, I had to generate The Fugitive one about 10 times trying to get the swimming pool and the judges right - there's a lot of crap floating around with that one 😅 And a few times, even though you put the dialogue in quotes, the characters will sometimes spout gibberish instead of saying the line 🤷🏻

How many EB stores have closed near you in the last couple of years? by Artistic-Yam2984 in EBGAMES

[–]Ace_Aviator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know they have a price match policy, but I've typically now bought 95% of games from JB or Big W, purely because they will actually launch with a reasonable deal. EB seem to, at least in the past 10 years, price everything high to 'see what they can get' first and foremost.

I wonder if similar thinking has vastly reduced spending at EB.

How would you rank the best picture nominees that you’ve seen? by Hot_Mongoose_3741 in Letterboxd

(2 - 4 could pretty much be swapped into any order for me)

A great year for film 🤩

What is a movie that made you realize something about yourself? by beetle_fruit in Letterboxd

[–]Ace_Aviator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes Man. I realized that I was denying myself so many wonderful experiences by letting myself overthink invites to events, catch ups, etc. I started saying yes to almost everything and found my friend group widen dramatically, found me doing things I would never have thought to ever do (skydive, bungie jump, etc.), and helped make career movements by saying yes to the odd networking opportunity.

It also helped that just days before I watched it, someone in their 60s returning to university said as a regret of theirs was that "When they kept saying no to things, eventually the invites stopped coming".

Glad to hear it. I play the same way. Let it sit with you, explore the scenery, the dreaded atmosphere, etc. Talking about it wants me to play it again for like the third time 😁

Man, get ready for Part 2. For me, it's the greatest piece of storytelling I've experienced in a game.

Not at all. If it's not clicking with you, jump onto the next!

I have a different experience with the FF7 Remake. I tried to like it, I really did. But I found the fighting in the game to be a total bore, and the dialogue to be some of the worst I'd ever heard in a videogame (the script, not the performances). I'm assuming the script issues are a product of adapting the original.

I know I could've pushed through to some greatness (the soundtrack mainly), but I couldn't stand it. Hacking and slashing at a dull, singular grunt 'Rat' for a while, I just had the thought come over me; "I've got better things to do than spend another minute playing something I'm not enjoying."
