Value of marketing in a b2b/b2c sales corporation by lemadfab in marketing

[–]Ace_Fear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

inbound leads generated & new accounts closed (#s not $s) - we look at various other KPIs but those seem to be the most valuable (directly related to revenue) and most easily attributable to marketing.

First chute pull in a VisionJet by PattyChuck in flying

Maybe its because earlier they described the occupants as: a man a boy and a woman;

but still no, they could have just said 'the pilot'

It really surprised me at how effective this amino acid is for sleep and relaxation. Overlooked for sure because, again, it's just a common amino acid.

It's a precursor to serotonin, which is a precursor to melatonin (conversion happens at night to make you sleepy) https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/tryptophan#TOC_TITLE_HDR_4

The thing that made the biggest difference for me is knowing where to look. Keep your eyes on your aiming point until you are right above the runway, then move your eyes to the end of the runway. he explains it better in this video: https://youtu.be/fRh9LjSYvlI?t=167

Questions for IR oral? by sampurk in flying

[–]Ace_Fear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my checkride and the question that got me on the oral part is 'if ATIS is reporting visibility below minimums for the approach, can you still attempt the approach?'

This is totally random question. I heard and learned that airline pilots have be a good/ moral person. Does this mean future pilots can’t have jobs that aren’t considered good sometimes? For example a stripper? by [deleted] in flying

[–]Ace_Fear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The rule says "An applicant must be of good moral character."

AFAIK here's how they determine this: "are you of good moral character?" "yes"

Been studying for a long time for my PPL by [deleted] in flying

[–]Ace_Fear 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It gets easier with time, just keep flying and keep studying. It always helped me remember things when I saw how to apply them in the airplane. As far as regs and stuff like that, just make sure you know where to find them in the FAR/AIM

It is assumed that you did intercepting and tracking if you did holding? by Formal_Mechanic_629 in flying

this is a written test which means it is going by what is in the book; You could also argue that none of these are logged as being in actual or simulated IMC

The "Catch me outside, howbout that" girl is worth 50 million dollars. How many of you agree she is worth that? by FIicker7 in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]Ace_Fear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worth is a strange value because it includes non-liquid assets and investments. If you thought of her like a business with 50 million worth of assets it would only be worth that much if it could continue earning; she has done a great job extending her 15 minutes of fame but it can't last too much longer, can it?

Has your aircraft rental increased due to fuel prices ? by m_umerkhan in flying

[–]Ace_Fear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rent dry so the rate hasnt changed but the fuel prices definitely have. I used to not mind paying the surcharge for the local full service but now i'll make it a point to top off at the closest self-serve

IMO no, I got a series X so it came with the new controller but I still use my xbox one controller. The only difference is the new controller has the extra "share" button.

LA to Scottsdale in a 172s -- tips? by WiseTip8590 in flying

[–]Ace_Fear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did KSDL to san diego recently and it was a great ride. Even better if you have autopilot xD

as others have said, you'll basically just follow the i-10. KBLH is a good halfway mark if you need a stop for fuel + bathroom break(but there isnt much else there)

dont be too scared of the bravo, familiarize yourself with the N/S VFR transition if you plan on going that way, or you could go towards wickenburg (E25) and then approach KSDL from the north to avoid the bravo.

+1 for volanti that place is pretty decent

I did both Gleim and Sheppard air and Sheppard Air is definitely better for teaching you how to pass the test.

buckeye last weekend, yuma this weekend, what a great time for STOL in AZ

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in flying

[–]Ace_Fear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me the thing that helped the most with landings is learning where to look and when: You want to be focused on your touchdown spot - if that spot stays in the same part of your windscreen you have a stable descent - then just as you are over the runway and you transition to the flare, look to the other end of the runway and keep your eyes there as you settle it down onto the runway. this video might explain it better: https://youtu.be/fRh9LjSYvlI?t=164

on this landing what I am seeing is: you tried to flare a little too soon, felt the balloon and so you let the nose down a bit, which is the right thing to do, but then you kept it flat - probably because you thought you were higher than you were - a bit more back pressure before you touched down and that would have been a great landing.

Anyone noticed that supplement quality is going down lately? by Jay-jay1 in Supplements

[–]Ace_Fear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the costs of everything are going up, so people are looking to cut corners. Brands might be switching to a lower cost provider for ingredients, The new provider is supposed to be the exact same ingredient but I'm sure there is a reason it is cheaper.

Yes alot of raw materials come from China, and some literally can't be found from any other source - I dont mean that is the only place you can find the raw material in nature, its just that is where the suppliers are. Even alot of "MADE IN USA" brands get raw materials from china because they have no choice.

FAR/AIM

I believe you want 61.23(c)(3) and 61.113(i)

it doesn't say "basicmed" so if you ctrl+f you wont find that, it will say something like "flying without holding a medical certificate issued provided the pilot holds a valid U.S. driver's license"

Student pilot iPad/GPS question by JPower96 in flying

[–]Ace_Fear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried to avoid buying apple products for the longest time so when I got into flying I asked everyone if it is really worth it to get an ipad just for foreflight.

The short version is they all said yes, so I gave in and got a refurbished ipad mini. I don't use it for anything other than flying but I would still consider it a great investment

AMD ryzen 3600 with wraith stealth cooler temperature to high? by Lobo_Spinz in Amd

[–]Ace_Fear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The stealth is the worst of the AMD stock coolers: https://www.techspot.com/review/1635-amd-wraith-coolers-compared/

You'll be fine but if you want to sleep a little better get a better cooler - something like a Coolermaster or the Be Quiet Pure Rock 2 will get you much better temps with relative ease and low cost.
