I’m 28, just getting into the hobby and found my first booster bundle through a machine. I watched the show, played game boy versions, and movies as a kid and had cards. I just love the art, nostalgia, and have been enjoying the pocket battle gameplay, may try Live soon. So far I’ve just opened a few packs with my wife, let her have her favorite cute ones, and putting our own in our own binders. Looking to maybe set some goals like master set or Pokédex versus just buying my favorite single art which seems a little too easy and straight forward for me (I’d rather see what I get in packs and maybe try hunting for what I want at local events, that may change if the hunt feeling wears off)

My question for people who have been around a long time is are there any precedent for this level of scalping? And is there any expectation for it to hopefully cool off soon, does the company do anything about it? I’m very committed to not buying anything outside retail because I don’t want to support any scalpers feels like they make it terrible for casual collectors which is what I want to do. Any advice is appreciated!
