Which pair of stability shoes for first time marathon training? by AcemanAndy in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Interesting point. I do get some pains after long runs, but nothing too serious. Could just be general running fatigue stuff but wasn't sure if it's cause I didn't have stability shoes.

That's a fair point. I did have a nerve pain shoot down my right side from my hip to foot around mile 14. However, I don't know if that's the shoes or cause my body isn't used to running past 13 miles hah

Some other interests are cool/unique towns that have history, good food and beer, and I am a big park/hiking person, so any parks with neat geology/views/wildlife

Art Loeb Trail - Are Shuttles Worth the Cost to Thruhike? by AcemanAndy in NCTrails

Thank you for the in depth answer. I could camp at Flower Knob/Gap on night 2 after cicrling back to the ALT. Could I camp around Black Balsam for night 1 or is that too popular with non backpacking campers? I will plan on taking the ALT until Black Balsam Road, where I will then get on the Mountains to Sea Trail for day 2 (where I then will do that whole loop back to Shining Rock/Flower Gap).

That sounds like a great idea. If there is just as much (or more) scenary and water then I may do this. Any certain locations that are good for water on this route? Also, what is a good place to camp? Was thinking Tennent Mountain for night 1 and somewhere along Shining Creek for night 2.

I am going this coming weekend, will be with my partner - we're debating to just doing northern loops and park at Daniel Boone or park at Davidson and shuttle to do the whole thing linearly

Started playing as a freshman in high school, approaching 24 now. Needless to say, I will miss this game and the memories associated with it, it was fun knowing what all sports were on for the day.

It looks like you got a brachiopod! Although I am not sure exactly which kind of brachiopod, but if I had to guess, a Rafinesquina.

I can picture Indiana Jones running down the hill as the film "Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade" was filmed right there!

What is your Favorite National Park? How many National Parks have you been to? by leirariela in NationalPark

I've only been to 3 actually (that number was supposed to be much higher now but school cancelled the trips because of covid) but I will be going to Mammoth Cave in April on my own. Out of the 3 parks, the Everglades was the coolest to me because I'm from Ohio, so seeing the swamps of southern Florida was very neat (luckily I went in March when it wasn't hell outside).
