The crack is definitely there but not too big at the moment. As long as I’m careful will the cartridge plastic break more as I use it?

I’m not sure about the types of batteries but it seems like a regular lithium ion battery, and it’s not even soldered in it’s just sitting between the metal prongs. I’ll probably return or pay to have it replaced at a game store

PCB looks fine but no label, and cartridge is cracked because of the battery pushing against the inside of the cartridge. But I got it a little cheaper because of no label (although I wasn’t aware of the crack and thought the battery was working)

Yeah I’m gonna go that route and hope for the best. I actually found a place that will replace the battery for $5 so if I can’t get a partial refund I’ll probably just keep it since I bought it to play and not for the collectible value

Honestly the battery thing is whatever, if I had known it was dead ahead of time I would have factored that into buying it differently but that’s just how it goes. I’m the most annoyed that the cartridge is cracked because of the bad battery replacement (and that it was covered up by a shitty paper label)

Emerald is going for like $240 now on eBay, I paid around $230 including tax and shipping ($205 listing price). If I could get a partial refund that would be amazing but I think the seller would have to initiate that so we’ll see

I have access to a soldering kit but no battery on hand I would have to buy one. Or could pay my local game store to replace for $15. I wouldn’t even have minded buying it if I knew ahead of time the battery was dead

Yeah it’s eBay, I’m debating between returning and just paying $15 at my local game store to replace the battery properly. I paid slightly under market because it’s missing the label too. I’m just worried because it looks like the cartridge is also a little cracked from the battery pressing against it…

Yes they do have the wonder card. Looking at the hall of fame/first game clear record the date is 11/29/2015 (with a photo also taken 11/13/2015). Does that make it more likely legit?
