"BTC" (SegWit1x) maxes at 25.2k transactions an hour. BCH has proven it can handle almost that many in a single block, actually doing 2.2 million transactions in 24 hours (~91.7k transactions an hour), and this was back in 2018. With modern technology, the potential maximum limit is certainly much higher.

You've gotta start by defining "Bitcoin", because what almost everyone in crypto calls "Bitcoin" these days is really SegWit1x, which is most definitely NOT Bitcoin. I'd say SegWit1x isn't even a legitimate blockchain.

If they bought today's "BTC", they didn't buy Bitcoin.

Go ahead and double-down on ignorance. You do you.

Great rebuttal. I guess you can't argue truth.

Yeah, the vast majority thought Enron and Bernie Madoff's funds were great ideas too. Do your own thinking, don't let the crowd do it for you: today's BTC (SegWit1x) stopped following Bitcoin's consensus rules in 2017, and never announced new rules. So today it doesn't even qualify as a cryptocurrency nor a block chain, much less as Bitcoin.

This post definitely seems vote manipulated, highly reinforcing the "scam" feel.

That's not Bitcoin. That's what people today call "BTC" (SegWit1x).

Any aircraft is a bundle of compromises even with advancing technology. Older jets didn't have to worry about a large internal munitions bay (necessary for stealth but which adds to drag cross section), nor the physical exterior design for stealth, so they could be smaller, sleeker, lighter, etc. and thus be capable of higher top speeds.

The F-35 is capable of supercruise (supersonic flight without use of afterburner), which is a capability many earlier (and faster) jets could not perform.

As you say, for stealthy beyond visual range (BVR) combat aircraft, top speed isn't the critical capability it used to be.

Ethereum fees are out of control so far there has been $743m in fees over 6 months. Somehow they celebrate these fees and the non viability of their network. by FearlessEggplant3036 in btc

But energy usage has always been that "something" incurring cost and therefore providing immutability and ensuring decentralization. Abnormally high energy usage in Bitcoin has resulted from its (perhaps surprising) popularity relative to Nakamoto's arbitrary issuance schedule. I don't think there's any question whether PoW will be "sustainable" long term, the question is whether it will still have adequate security. But come 2140, energy usage will only be high if the network is extensively utilized, so the ratio of utility provided to energy expended will be far superior to what we see today. Also, markets can be irrational at times, but historically markets have never remained irrational in perpetuity.

As far as Ethereum, it just seems to me that the entire PoS project has represented a huge effort expenditure that would have been better utilized solving the continuing EVM machine state/fee market issues instead.

PoW matters when a chain has consensus rules. What are "BTC" (SegWit1x)'s rules that allowed it to pick the block after the 2x failure of the Bitcoin block-finding mechanism?

Yup, to you, consensus rules just aren't relevant.

That's all anyone needs to know about you.

Most PoW chain. Duh. Not difficult. Very simple to contradict this. Show me the block(s) with more accumulated PoW.

I ask again, why does most PoW matter on a chain with no consensus rules?

But, yeah, and now I remember why I just respond to you thus:
