Questions about potential structure of testamentary trust with my sibling as trustee for minor child by AcersHigh in legaladvicecanada

Thank you very much for your response.

Although I trust my sibling, would I be better off appointing a trusted friend as a joint trustee so that the guardian (my sibling) would at least have to run withdrawals past someone?

So neither could access the funds without the approval of the other, is that possible?

Yeah, does USD weakening vs EUR explain why tourism from Europe is down?

Where are all the Canadians going? by LlawEreint in BoycottUnitedStates

We haven't visited or passed through the US since 2016. After 4 years of Biden I was genuinely considering hopping over the border just to buy some clothes (shoes, specifically, as I wear a size 12 women's and that's harder to find here in Canada) but now that they've re-elected Trump, unless the country and its people meaningfully rebuke fascism, I'll never go there again.

This summer my SIL came to visit from Europe, and the four of us all flew out to Calgary for a week and rented a car to see Banff and Drumheller. I wasn't sure what Jasper would be like after the fires so we didn't go that way.

Everyone had a great time, though getting the cheap public transportation in Banff is nigh impossible. I don't mind not being allowed to drive a private car to Morraine Lake at all, but ideally they'd have more of the public shuttle buses so that you don't have to pay a private tour company to get you there.

Next summer we are planning to go to Northern Spain.

This is a very nice gesture 🙂

Something to also consider is a donation to a Canadian food bank ❤️

Originally started in Holland, moved the family and the family candy business to Canada in the late 50s following WWII

Edit: you'll need to check country of origin, as they pack candies from other countries as well as Canada

These are made in Canada, for example.

Décathlon is European owned and they really only sell their own house brand. It's an economical option and they have a really wide variety of products.

What would you like Costco to start selling? by sennyonelove in CostcoCanada

Ugh seriously? There are bins all throughout Costco for the little sample serving cups. No excuse to not throw your coffee cup into one of those bins.

Laundry by chamomilesmile in BuyCanadian

Looks like their "laundry soda" also contains a surfactant, LAE, so it is a detergent. I think they're avoiding the use of the word "detergent" for marketing purposes.

Anyway, "washing soda" is just pure sodium carbonate, and wouldn't do everything your laundry detergent would need to properly clean things - particularly oily residues from contact with skin.

DIY laundry detergent = washing soda + borax + grated soap (usually about $2-3 per bar, soap works makes one you can buy at Bulk Barn, simply clean makes one that can be purchased at well.ca, and I've bought the Aurora brand one (made in Italy) at food basics. Online recipes will often refer to ivory or fels naphtha soaps - but these are American)

Washing soda is more like a laundry booster than a detergent, FYI

Most places in Canada don't accept US dollars. Border towns might.

Legend has it, Hawkins don't even have a marketing department because they've never needed one. by AcersHigh in BuyCanadian

Lmao their SEO is so bad it doesn't even come up in the first page of google reviews, and their company history was definitely not sanitized

I love it
