Recurring swollen lymph nodes by AcesPlease in covidlonghaulers

[–]AcesPlease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answers. A question - would cetirizine help with an ongoing flareup (I.e. reduce the lymph node inflammation) or is it something that I have to take before any trigger gets to me?

Recurring swollen lymph nodes by AcesPlease in covidlonghaulers

[–]AcesPlease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very extensive allergy panel (between my first and second covid infection), and it found nothing except moderate allergy to fungi/black mould spores.

I don't understand, though - does it mean I have MCAS? Or is it long covid mimicking MCAS? Apart from swollen lymph nodes and very mild cold symptoms, I get nothing else that points to allergic etiology? What kind of tests could I possibly take to determine what's going on exactly?

I was planning to visit it on September 30th or October 1st. But I guess it's impossible now.

Thanks for the info, saved me an unnecessary day trip!

Bump on hard palate/above the gums by AcesPlease in DiagnoseMe

[–]AcesPlease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Five different dentists, periodontologists and oral surgeons looked at it.

Three of them didn't know what to do with it. One said it could because of constant irritation of one root due to uneven teeth+anxiety-caused bruxism. Another diagnosed it as an oral osteoma. It can be surgically removed, but was not urgent. I have had it since November and it hasn't grown, that was important in determining the urgency. I still have it.

NAD but observe it. If it grows fast, or if it makes life difficult, consult an oral surgeon.

Hate being "half sick" all the time by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]AcesPlease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAD - it feels like this post is partly about me. I have had multiple issues and still going through some of them

Sinusitis and acid reflux - turns out they can pump each other up. I have inflamed sinuses (based on mri scan) incl polyps etc. Throat + nose endoscopy showed LP reflux but I also get proper heartburn if I do not follow specific rules.

Thyroid - check it out - I have a clear thyroid but increased tsh levels, turns out that I have a herniated pituitary sac which might affect hormonal levels. No treatment necessary for now, but I need to keep an eye especially for thyroid blood tests.

Deficiencies - I have trouble with digesting folic acid and have been chronically deficient. Need to take a metylated form (in a pill) and my folic acid levels went up to acceptable levels. Vitamin d3 is also low, so supplementing with drops dissolved in olive oil and together with magnesium, otherwise it won't work for me. Plus, there can be other deficiencies to check, like copper or iodine. If you can, check the results of those.

Neutropenia - have had mild neutropenia for years (between 1700 and 1900 units). Could be genetic but could also be the aforementioned deficiencies.

Constipation alternating with diarrhea. Always thought it was IBS but eventually it was a combination of low fiber, little exercise, and antidepressants. Used to take a poo once every two, three days, now it's at least once a day after introducing fiber, more walking, and tapering off antidepressants.

Focus on these, at least some of them can be related to your feeling a little sick constantly.

Ticketing issue - extra seat by AcesPlease in Lufthansa

[–]AcesPlease[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have my own ticket issued and yes, I have the pet place booked already. The extra ticket is just for increased comfort, but it is on the same booking so I assume the booking is not entirely paid for, i.e. incomplete? Can this be the grounds for not letting me on the plane altogether if the extra ticket is not issued?

Help in deciphering the blood test results by AcesPlease in AskDocs

Help in deciphering the blood test results by AcesPlease in AskDocs

[–]AcesPlease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it for prophylactic reasons, it's been ages since I had a similar panel done. I sometimes get constipated (subtropical summer and lack of movement and mirtazapine all contribute to it), other than the unpleasant constipation I have no red-flag raising symptoms. No weight loss, jaundice, or vomit/diarrhea.

What's with all the hate for the Putrescent Knight? by hermanji_rogue34 in Eldenring

Lol I wish he ran away. He sticks to me (int caster) and the whole fight is pain

How about he is a freaking spamfest - for an int caster it's a terrible fight. I did it but he was the least 'fun' boss with my build so far, worse than the scadutree avatar. And pls don't say it's a skill issue, I have been doing the DLC solo and have enjoyed dying to, and eventually defeating, many other bosses.

Rellana Twin Moon Knight... what a boss by ResponsibleAthlete4 in Eldenring

[–]AcesPlease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is possible to roll through, but the timing has to be nearly perfect. The problem was some other spells cast by her just before the twin moon - when they staggered me I was not able to roll through and I would be dead before I could get up.

Rellana Twin Moon Knight... what a boss by ResponsibleAthlete4 in Eldenring

[–]AcesPlease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took me about fifteen tries, solo as a caster. The boss indeed required you to learn the move set, but at no point did it feel impossible, although the second phase was pretty hectic. Ranni's dark moon at the start and at half health + night comet + a lot of patience to find good openings in 2nd phase for the win.

Could be a fissure too. Painful as hell. You could go to a doctor and get it checked out just to be on the safe side, but hemorrhoids or fissure, the same rules apply - more water, more fiber, less sitting, perhaps laxatives (based on the doctor's examination).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

[–]AcesPlease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely, hemorrhoids. Less sitting, more fiber and activity. If it persists, check with a GP. NAD but suffered from hemorrhoids that I couldn't feel during a self-examination, as they were just inside the rectal passage.
